  1. I got the cam a while back. I have been buying things on ebay, and craigslist for a while. I have been trying to build this engine for the last 2-3 years. Lack of funds has been stopping me. But i figure that this is not such a hot cam i should not have any problems with clearance. Just want to get other peoples opinion/experiance. As far as carburation goes i am still not sure. I had been running a single webber 40 DCOE. I also have a set of SU's, and some R1 mukunis. I do not have a intake manifold for the mukunis.
  2. I have been around the forum for a while just rarely posted. I know there is a lot of knowledge out their in engine building so I want to know if you guys can help me out. I am currently building a L16 for my 521. So need to order some pistons. I am going to install some 240z flat tops in it but need to know if I should order the ones with the valve reliefs in them? I am also planning on installing a CompCam with a 0.42 lift and a 268 duration. I will be running a 210 head (I know) with bigger valves. I want to build something I can run on the street. Thanks for your help Alex

    Posi-Trac Rear End?

So when swapping to one of these LSD's is the whole housing swapped out, or can you just change your internals with the LSD? I know some of these other housings have different locations for shocks or springs. I wanted to know if it was that easy.
  4. Yeah that is the plan too. I do a lot of highway driving, plus the 521 only has a single outlet on the master cylinder. That why I wanted to hear about some one else running stock brakes.
  5. Just want to ask if any one is running the stock drum brakes all around with this set up? I got a 521, just want to know how much stopping power is lost.
  6. I did the por-15 on my fuel tank about 2yrs ago. Has held up so far. Had some good size pin holes that i filled in with JB weld then did the whole por-15. I also only bought the cycle gas tank repair kit, just to try and save some cash. It did cover the whole tank though. You pretty much just clean the tank with their cleaners and pour the sealer in the tank, slosh it around and try to get a good cover on the inside of tank. Then pour the excess sealer back out and let it dry. It took a good weekend, just because I let the cleaners sit in the tank for a while. I had a good amount of rust in the tank it kept on clogging my fuel filter, then the tank started leaking. Now I just have to find that 'o' ring for the fuel level sender.
  7. I was having the same problem on my truck. Found the radiator was dirty, also had some pin hole leaks in it. Had it cleaned and repaired. Actually the whole cooling system was dirty, not sure what was in their look like calcium deposits and other junk. The truck had been sitting for a couple of years when i got it. I flushed the whole cooling system by disconnecting the outlet hose on the block. Then i was putting fresh water into the radiator while the truck was on and catching the water that was coming out of the engine until it looked clean. That worked pretty good until my radiator rotted all the way through and I had to replace it.
  8. Just got to put his out their, I bought a HID set for a lot cheaper. If you guys are looking for a set check it out; http://www.ddmtuning.com/products/102/ Just trying to save you guys some cash.
  9. I got mine yesterday, good stuff. Very high quality. Thanks.
  10. I dont think so.... send me a PM, how much it would be for shipping.
  11. I'll give you 100$ including shipping...
  12. What year and are these 4 piston? If so can you let me know the distance in between the mounting holes? Thanks.
  13. Datzenmike, Thanks for the info. As far as the clutch, and T.O bearing should I just the one from the 4 Speed?
  14. Don't mean to hijack the thread but had a quick question about a 620 5 speed since you guys are on the subject. To swap the 620 5 speed into a 70' 521, is it just a matter of shorting the transmission mount 2in. getting the drive shaft shorten, and thats it right? I also understand that it is going to move the shifter 2in. back. It is going to mate with a L16 by the way. Is their anything I should know about as far as the T.O bearing or clutch?
  15. I found these while surfing the web https://www.energysuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MOOG-8625B# They say they are for a 72' 620. I am not familiar with the 620s will these fit the 521? Any input will help, I am trying to locate some parts so I can start rebuilding mine. Witch looks real fun by the way.
