  1. You're right. When I said sneaky, I was referring to those items that start at $100, but the reserve is closer to $5000. As a bidder I feel like it's kind of misleading. Those situations where if I knew the reserve I never would have bothered to bid. Maybe that's just me. Some lucky Canadian scooped it up for $4k and so far everyone's happy. As soon as he pays in full I'll remove ad.
  2. Wow that really surprises me about the hubcaps. They looked identical to the ones on my last L320. Guess it was a coincidence. That one was a bit of a Frankenstein, so it doesn't shock me too much. I'm glad there is a forum full of all you Dat experts to set me straight on this. Thanks.
  3. I agree about the bumper. Owner #1 put it on for utility but it is hideous compared to the original. It does have very limited miles (<40k) and the fella I bought it from claimed it was mostly original. I love the truck, just isn't practical for me anymore. I love it too much to let it just sit in my yard through the winter. It's gotta find a home.
  4. Thanks for the help. I feel like an ass for claiming I knew better. Hopefully I didn't scare the bidder off. One more question? The previous owner referenced the mirror as a clear indicator it was an import. With the mirrors disproved, how else can I tell? I really want to accurately portray my truck and its value. Today I've gone from thinking I knew a thing or two about my truck to second guessing it all. I don't think it impacts value too much. I just prefer to not misrepresent it in any way. Thanks for any advice ya'll.
  5. I just found like eight Datsun Sunny truck photos with the bullet mirrors, so I guess at some point that rule changed or maybe people have modified those too. I don't see any on L320s. Sounds like I may owe him an apology for my mistake. I wonder which owner did it... I really trust the fella I bought it from, but perhaps the old man who claimed to have imported it to the US felt the need to accessorize. I suppose I'll never know. I love them, they look sharp. They're about as helpful as a swimsuit in december, but they really make it pop. I'll miss this truck when it sells. Thanks for the expert insight. I shall go eat crow now <_< Kathy
  6. No signs of bondo anywhere on the truck. The ones on the U series are still a different style. These look like bullets with a swiveling inner lens. I found a 55 dat with them. That makes me more suspicious :( I hope I haven't been talking out my ass this whole time.
  7. Thanks for embedding the photos. I've never been able to figure out how to do that on here.
  8. Hey there, I've posted my '65 L320 for sale and a mirror debate has ensued. A potential bidder claimed that my mirrors couldn't be original. I was told when I bought it that they were and I swear I've seen other photos with these. Of course I can't find any now. I was 100% sure and now I'm second guessing myself. My last L320 didn't have any mirrors left when I found it:)Anyone ever seen these on an import? I don't want to be a jerk and claim something is original if it isn't. Thanks, Kathy Pics
  9. I uploaded more pictures, just in case anyone is interested... More Pics
  10. I thought about it, but I guess it comes down to Karma. I figure if I start the bid at my bottom dollar I make it really clear and honest. I love ebay, but I hate the sneaky stuff sellers do to hook you. I prefer to treat it as an old fashioned auction. Your starting bid is your reserve. Worked for me when I sold my other 320. It will sell eventually. It's a fantastic truck.
  11. Update (not just a bump) The auction closed and no one bid. About an hour later the low ball emails started pouring in. I really want my truck to go to someone who knows what a gem it is. I've listed it again. 4k no reserve, if you're interested please check it out. Someone could scoop it up for 4K if last auction is any indication. My truck on ebay
  12. My Datsun has been a desert dweller too and in way better shape. I'm asking 6K obo, but you can find it on ebay right now. Opening bid is $4k no reserve. Just in case you're still looking. My Dat on ebay
  13. Hey Everyone, Just a note to say the truck is also listed on ebay right now. Starting bid is $4000 with no reserve. The Auction Closes tomorrow. See it at Ebay Auction Happy Bidding, Kathy
  14. Hey Ya'll, I noticed no one is commenting or responding. I know the rules say not to criticize price, but I'd love your input. Am I asking too much money? Perhaps I turned people off by saying I need to get a modern vehicle instead? Just looking for input. Thanks, Kathy
  15. Drastic price reduction! I've moved to Taos, NM and now my truck really needs to find a new home. It currently seems to have developed a charging problem, likely the generator. I don't have the time/money to deal with it and I've reduced the asking price for likely an easy fix. She's a beauty with <40,000 original miles. It has been my reliable daily driver for the last eight months with no other known mechanical issues. Clean title with 3 owners, counting me. I never wanted to sell her, but my situation changed. There are a few things that aren't original: the upholstery(redone by last owner), paint (she was born turquoise), brake master cylinder (have the old leaky original if your sentimental:-), and rear bumper. There is a slight spot of rust on the passenger side caused by a drainage design flaw and some minor paint scratches. I intended to replace all the window felts and squeegees eventually for cosmetic reasons, but they have never leaked. This truck is geared low so highway driving above 55-60mph is not recommended. It gets great gas mileage and is ideal for putting around town. She has the original working Datsun AM radio which is rare and worth $500 on it's own. Sale includes the complete shop manual, as well as a resource cd-rom created by a knowledgeable enthusiast out of Australia. All this said, because of its age the truck is sold as is. At the risk of sounding like a pet ad, to a loving home only! For more info or pics call 575-313-0950 or reply through ratsun. The truck is available for local pick-up only. Any shipping plans are the buyers responsibility. I have listed my truck several different ways and buyers fell through due to shipping. I recommend bringing a trailer and picking it up yourself. Buyer must take possession by 12/18/11, unless other arrangements are made. I am asking $6,000 or best offer. I am also open to a partial trade. I need a modern daily driver. Maybe a 90s ford ranger, minivan, or wagon? Unfortunately I need some cash out of the deal too so title for title trades are not possible.Photos
