  1. Right on, thanks! I thought that did something completely different when I looked at it lol... :poke:
  2. Mandatory pictures for seller's ads would be great. People's idea of "mint" can REALLY vary as I have seen. For the WTB ads, just create another section for those, keep them out of the sell list. Not only could you require pictures for seller ads, and not for WTB ads, it would also clean up the sell list so it would help to find what you need. I've often seen a word of what I am looking for, only to read the full title and go awh, they want it too. Bummer. To add one more layer of awesome to that setup, this would also give people with parts an easy way to find buyers. BAM!
  3. Looking at the classifieds, there is already an area inside the post that displays the location. Maybe if just that data was displayed in the ad listings that would be a great help. It could be displayed similar to the pricing, or by another column like the "time left" column. This would also make it so all previously made ads don't need to change a thing. Having your cake and eating it too is always nice. :-)
  4. I have a suggestion to make. I've read a bunch of these pages, and haven't seen anyone mention something about it. I also looked around for an easy way to search within these terms; by state, and found nothing that supported it. Many of us are from all over, but I guess in my personal experience there are quite a few on Ratsun in or around Washington. I'd really like to search for stuff I might be able to pick up locally and leave shipping out of it. This also goes for Events, especially. It would be super nice to sort by state hosted in. Maybe then I could find some of those local meet ups. How do we implement this? There is a couple ways to do this that I have seen. Method 1: The "easiest" and cheapest is to require the state (and maybe city too for something like Events) to be posted in the thread title. Something like this: [Renton, WA] Wednesday night hangout @ Ezelle's! Chicken lick'n good!!! If out of the USA, use 3 letters instead of the state: [Frankfurt, Ger] [Paris, Fra] Obviously there are a lot of ways to do this particular method even. You could keep it free form and at least just require some hint of a location in brackets. Why the "easiest"?? Well... it doesn't always follow through well with people posting. It requires more upkeep to keep things tidy. Method 2: Implement a software based requirement before posting the ad. This could be as simple as something like Craigslist; a box to enter the location with a text limit and it displays as a column in the thread listing next to the title. It could be a little more upscale and have drop downs, selections, input validation (to ensure it's a real location and not klasjf20820), etc. etc. This would just make searching SOOO much easier for things relevant to your location. Again, I hope I am not being an asshat suggesting this because there is some option I missed lol :poop: .
  5. I think it's cool either way to see something different but also like it belongs there. datzenmike mentioned due to being a stock option on 4x4 and not some bolt on style made to fit like from a 280zg is what makes it pull off the look and I have to agree. I used to do some booth paint work for a couple years when the painter was out sick- from my experience it would be pretty tough to get a paint that would hold up well for a long time and match a color well over plastic vs. metal on a fender like this but I could be wrong. My thoughts are by having to use different base primers the final color would be slightly off. So you may have to account for this in the color match. There are plenty of plastic paints out there that help with adhesion and flex but again finding the colors you need would be tough. I've heard mixed reviews on a lot of them- everything from crumbling over time (as it hardens more from sun damage etc) to high texture look from the thickness of it. It's been a long time since I looked into this so there could be a newer better product out that would do the job well. I did this stuff about 9 years ago haha.
  6. I did some photo shloppin as someone asked about color matched flares.
  7. Nice to know exactly what that looks like as I was aiming for a 3" drop too. I only made the comment about scraping due to you saying you may go lower (which in turn sounds like it would scrape a good bit). I'm planning on going with belltech front drop spindles and their lowering leaf springs. What combo did you end up using?
  8. I did some more investigation today and found out where the issue stemmed from. The Passenger rear drum is out of round. So, the ridge that builds up on the edge of the drum started to dig into the brake pad on a certain area. This in turn has damaged the bearings after prolonged abuse and is probably what caused slop in the differential too. I took a file to the ridge and adjusted the pads some and now it only very slightly rubs the drum. This at least buys me some time until I can look into the rear end swap some more. So that's at least some what of a win today. B)
  9. Is that the sound it will make on the highway after I install it? :P
  10. I spy some things I may check out instead... :ninja:
  11. Lots of peeps looking to buy rear ends but no one selling one.. bummer. With my luck they'd probably be across the country anyways lol Edit: Durr- thought you said Ratsun lmao... (That's what I get for reading at 9am!) I'll run a search for that and see what comes up. I'm not too keen on buying a diff as old as mine though. Somehow I just don't think that would be fixing a whole lot (esp since you can't even inspect the gears on a H190). Basically- I don't want to end up searching for another H190 in a month. Or then deciding I should have gone with something better. I'd rather spend more money on something solid than waste it on luck- which I don't have a lot of.
  12. I just wanted more details on why it was too wide. I don't know how much smaller the older datsuns would be (if at all)- but my 720 has between 1.5 to 2" of clearance- nothing a fender roll wouldn't take care of. If the multiple sources I found are correct and it is around an inch wider each side- then it's perfectly within tolerance. In any case- I'll be measuring everything myself at the JY to double check all clearances. But right now I don't see any reason as to why this would be a real difficult swap. My truck isn't even low- so it's not like I have much to worry about at the moment anyways.
  13. NissanPickup 85 9/16/2013 - Might be a chance it has what I need. NissanPickup 84 7/31/2013 - More than likely a pile of bones. This is what I got on a search there. There was a couple 86's but I think they were D21's. But again... the easiest street isn't always the best one...
  14. What?? You're pullin my chain right? You did so much work on it. What ended up being the deciding factor- wheel offset?
