I actually offered that to him. I told him if he would bend on price I would take it but he told me "I have a friend who said if you don't buy it he will so I can't bend on price". So I passed, but I took sooooo many detailed pics and offered to send them to him if the deal falls through and he wants them for selling purposes and when I texted him a couple hours later to offer that he informed me that his friend had bought it. So maybe it was a sales play, maybe it wasn't. but either way he was done with me haha. 

But yeah I definitely plan on getting one. I am currently selling my Scion XB. So as soon as I do that I can afford to maybe try to get into one that isn't quite as much of a project. Oh well... some day!

Yeah, I doubt it sold, it's still on craigslist. post up the pictures on here if you can. for 2k still not bad, depending on how soft the vynil top felt. I bought my last rusty 2dr rolling shell for 1500 5 years ago. I don't think pricing are going to go down any time soon. 

 If I were to buy a project 510, my main concern would be how complete the trim is and the condition. It gets expensive quick trying to piece it together a 510.  fixing rust is a lot less work.

This is all super helpful! I am definitely looking for it to be a daily driver but I fully accept it's gonna take a bit of work to get it that way. Thanks for all the advice everyone. I called him and he said that he lives in California and the car is at his friends house in Atlanta but his friend is a construction contractor so he travels a lot which makes it difficult to sell. Which sounds pretty sketchy. How am I supposed to get a signed bill of sale if he isn't even there? The fact that he isn't there and there is no title (even though in Georgia it isnt required for a car older than 1985. I'm definitely having second thoughts. Its just impossible to find a good condition 510 for under like 7k haha

It's a legit sale, the guy lives in modesto I think and I remember when he bought the car.

Wish would have saved all money's to snatch this up , are you in rush to sell? Getting tons offers? You keeping black one? You have progress of 510?

In reality, no one is going to step up to buy my SSS , so I'll be keeping all of them. this is the 510 that sucks up all my time, has been a 4 year build. KA swapped, all new suspension, coil overs. etc.

Sorry to hear that!  We need more 411s on the road.

that's why I'm selling it. I don't have the time to ever get to it. I have 2 67 SSS cars and a 64 410 as well as a ka swapped 510. hope someone steps up to build it.

How many rings did you remove? I removed 1 1/2 of mine but I am nowhere near that low. :cool:

How did you go about lowering the front? 

Slicing and dicing coils. lol. after the rear gets lowered I will see where I am at. Might need to add a 1'' spacer to bring it up an inch.

Your 411 appears to be an early model with what I call the "Droopy drawers" rear fender line.  [Think a 2 year old with a load in his Doctor Dentons and you have the look]  Later versions "cleaned up" the rear fender [and in the sedan the trunk] lines to a neater non-Pinin Farina and cleaner looking appearance.  For example, the body creases on the rear quarter panels are much straighter and don't slump to the rear.

I know this is an old thread, but holy shit. I have to stick up for the 410 body style, I think it's obvious that the rear quarters and deck lid are complimentary to the 410. 411 looks so-so, but the 410 was the real deal.

Hey Reza you mentioned a future 2dr project in your future would that be on the black 411 and how much fabrication would be involved

Surprisingly......... That black Rl411 turned out to be a lot nicer than the pictures showed. Has solid floors, fenders, roof. Engine turned over after soaking the cylinders for a couple hours. Will put it on the back burner and collect parts for it, Only major thing it needs is a RH quarter panel. 

As far as 2dr conversions go, I would buy a set of 2dr door shells from japan have them shipped. Next move the Door pillar back far enough for it to now mate with the attached "2dr" Door. then use the set of rear door skins to fill in the quarter area. Its pretty simple, finding the doors would be the tricky part.
