According to google searches the CD17 engine is Interference :(

Looks like the waterpump quit and snapped the timing belt :( Hopefully no damage occured to the rest of the engine but it looks like I'm going to be pulling the engine out to fix it.

I hope to find out later this week, It's not starting, It's cranking faster than normal with less resistance. My friend thinks it could be a broken or jumped pump timing belt so we'll be taking the covers off both ends of the engine and seeing what's wrong.

Howdy Y'all I thought I'd share my awesome little car that is sadly broken now. It's a 4 Cylinder Diesel coupled to a 4 Speed Manual transmission. Sadly no AC which sucks in Tucson. I had two friends drive from San Jose to Seattle to pick it up for me and drive it back to San Jose. Then I flew to San Jose and drove it home to Tucson. It's been being used by my parents after their Volvo quit on them but they managed to kill it last week. I also had a 83 Volvo in the past that I took on a cross-country trip to Rally it from New York to New Orleans.
