  1. Ute thread under truck in the forum. Cheers
  2. No its Daniel, not Aaron, he only likes 510's.. Thanks for the comments, yes the car is all restored to original specs, original a12 etc, just a bit better than the factory ie. metallic paint, all black underneath etc. I only have a pretty bad shot of the interior. Heres is another shot taken the other day.
  3. Shot at summernats (australia's version of the goodguys nationals).
  4. Hi all, Well I was told I was being sneaky having an avatar with a 320 in it with no other explaination. I bough the truck in September, it has been a farm truck its entire life. When I first heard of the truck all I really asked is if it is complete, as in Oz 320's are far rarer than in the states, with most of them being farmers run arounds any that you find are usually beyond repair. It was in pretty good condition considering, but all the running gear and suspension was shot. It was a 15 hours round trip to pick up the car, but it was worth it. As soon as i got the car I started on the suspension, it has all new bushes most of them retro fitted off other cars, new hilux rear springs, and new shocks. Re did the brakes all the lines and wheel cylinders, rebuilt the carb and fixed a head gasket and the car was running and driving as good as a 40 year old truck is going to drive. I have been slowly doing up aspects of the car as I go as it is my daily driver. I cut the rope ties of and the sides and made the profile match the cab, and made a new tailgate as the old one was stuffed. Recently I had the roof panel beated so I could put a fluted headlining in it, there is no bog in the roof and I painted it in House of Kolor prism geen white pearl. Plans for the car: I have a 720 chassis with disc brake rear that I will be fitting to the car in a few months along with a sr20de with quad throttles, then I will be making a new tub and painting the car. Cheers
  5. No window frame mods, the guys who put them in put a type of foam strip in underneath the glass to sit it up even with the body. It is actually a little difficult to do cause the standard rubber is big and accomodates the window being quite a bit smaller than the windshield frame, the urethane small rubbers do not. In the progress of creating a thread on the ute too.
  6. The windows are urethaned in like most modern cars, as the standard molds are bulky and would take away from the smoothed look we were going for. The transmission cross memeber bolts in from the top ie inside the car there are bolts that go down inside the crossmember. Thanks for the nice comments.
  7. Heres a pic of my 1200 I have been restoring for the last 5 months, nearly complete.
  8. Thats an A series datsun mottor as appeared from about 67 on in a10-a15 form. Its an early motor as the later motors 75 on ran the dizzy in the middle of the block, that in OZ at least. Cheers

  10. I thought I woudl share with you guys some photos of my brothers 510 that myself, my dad and he built. It has one many awards in Australia including grand champion of Summernats (Australia's goodguys car show equivilant). We did nearly all the work in our garage ourselves, if anyone is interested I can post some specs. Cheers
  11. Depends on what you want and what your into, nostalgic, orignial, JDM, or showcar, or import look. Theres alot of possibilities. Heres a photo of my brothers 510 with some bigger wheels than your average. In Australia on show car style 510's definately the most popular wheel is a f90simmons. Cheers
