  1. What did you use to spray it? spray can stuff? I need to do the same thing to the bed in the truck im fixing up.
  2. Pulled off the back panel on the tailgate, that covers where the latch is and everything and the handle was broken, Im going to see if a handle from a d21 will work, if yall know if it will or not let me know if you dont mine. But the panels in the back are pretty rusty and beat up, I think im going to pull all of them and try to clean them up and paint them with something thick. Got the back wheel unlocked too, I just pulled the drum off, and put it back on and it spins fine now. not sure if the brakes work but I just want to make it towable/rollable also picked up some rims from a chevy luv, not wide at all and 14inch but I think they might look good, I spent 30 bucks on them with shot tires, im on the lookout for 14inch tires now. these are them I think
  3. Not ditching it, just putting it off more like all 280z projects. I have yet to get my l28 running, havnt tried, I put your distributor in and everything, I have a wiring harness to, might see if I can get it running before I pull it out of the 280. So far I love working on this truck, just jack it up whereever I want on the frame and what not, jackstands under the rear axle or on the frame, its so simple. But I have a old l28 block im going to use to see how the engine mounts are going to look and overall fitment, and if it will bolt up to the trans.
  4. Thanks! will do. I have never even touched drum breaks.I hear they are easy.
  5. Got some stuff done on the truck today. Replaced the lower passenger ball joint. So it sits on the ground now and is rollable once I take the rear drive brakes apart to see why it wont spin, then I can move it to my friends shop I just built to do more work on it. some pictars of this pos The fender is just sitting on it, and the grill is on the roof The back window The broke ball joint I put the rear end on jackstands, the passenger tire spins and makes the DS spin too. The driver one is locked, we had to slide it off of the rollback, it did budge at all. It seems to have some type of air shocks, you can add air or let out air for the ride height, but im putting lowering blocks on it, probably 4 inch like my friends. I found some wheels I love on a chevy luv im probably going to pick up.
  6. The front end is jacked up any way, or down right missing, so ill move it forward a inch or two, not going to have a/c any way.
  7. Ill find out what I find out, I have had this l28et for a long time and my 280z doesnt have a title so... but Ill get it going. if you need a front sump oil pan go with a l24e front sump pan from a rwd maxima and modify the oil pickup. I was already going to throw my l28 in my old 82 maxima but I sold it so. relocate the turbo if it doesnt clear, I know I say it like im a master fabricator, im not but i know someone I can pay if not. the steering looks pretty far forward in the truck. I plan on moving the radiator not the engine back, if i move the rad forward then I wont have a problem. Either way I know a guy who will do a custom driveshaft for 150 if it all comes down to it. If I need to remove the turbo just to get it running I will. I have seen some people on here talk about it but no one does it, All I mess with is Zs so I feel pretty confident.
  8. Just got my 720 ive been waiting months for, I think it is a 84, my friend has the title, a friend bought it for the engine and is giving me the truck, it needs quite a few things but nothing I cant handle. the bed is rusty but im not worried about it, the frame and everything else is rust free. My plans, l28et engine and 300zx ecu, gotta pull it all from my 280z and throw it in it and see how it works. Right now I have to pull the back brakes apart because the wheels wont turn, or the trans is locked up, it still has the z24 in it, I gotta pull it for my friend. It needs a front end, some intior, driver window needs to be messed with, front right suspension has to be all replaced, needs 4 new tires if not new rims. I want to do 4 inch lowering blocks too. But it is what I wanted a 720 with a sliding back window, and a rope tie bed. But I heard one is at my pull-a-part near me so im going to go snag a transmission and some front end parts body and suspension. I call it the 728, because it will have a L28 engine so... Im gunna paint it somewhere or put a sticker on the window... Its a work in progress for sure that I havnt worked on
