  1. Are those the stock side moldings?
  2. Yes, if you can get your hands on one. I haven't looked, but I heard they are expensive.
  3. What's the cruising speed with the 4th gear?
  4. I am in the process of getting mine restored. It is not cheap, but I am looking forward to having driveable by the Summer time. There are a lot of resources in Southern California.
  5. This is what it looks like now.
  6. You are correct. I do have the 1600.

Thank you. It's a nice histor on how I got it. I wish I had taken better care of it if I had known what I know now. It was given to me by the neighbor across the street from my parents. I was in college at the time. And then it ended up with my brother and he didn't take very good care of it. I finally got it back and starting the process to restore it. So my plan is to restore it and get it back to its former glory. Trying to keep it as original as possible. 1) Getting the motor cleaned up. 2) Getting the steering rebuilt. 3) Going back to the original silver 4) Debating between keeping the interior back or going to red. 5) Looking for wheels options... or just staying with the steel wheels with chrome caps.

I tried to read the colour code, but it's faded. I got it from the original owner and I don't think he got it repainted. The shop seem to think it's silver originally since the firewall is silver. I don't see it on this list of paint code. Maybe it was a dealership option back then and they just painted it whatever color you wanted maybe?!?! http://www.datsun.org/roadster/resources/paintcodes.html

This is what mine looks like now.
  10. Anyone know a place that sells the various rubber emission hoses? I've search through the usual sources, but I haven't seen anything. Mine are all cracked.
  11. I just talked to Mike on the phone. He is a SUPER nice guy and very helpful.
  12. I talked to Dando's in Fremont about doing the engine work. Fortunately, I do have all the original bit and pieces since I got the entire from the original owner. The interior and body definitely needs some work.
  13. How do I get a hold of Mike Young? Thanks.
  14. I tried to find a directory of shops, but I could find any. The short of it is that I have a 1968 Datsun 1600. I am looking to restore this. I don't have the time for space to restore it myself. I am looking for a good ship in the SF Bay Area that can do the work. Thanks.
