    Bed Cover

for the most part yes. but not all short beds are the same length or width and some are shaped like a trapezoid measuring wider at the cab and narrower at the tailgate or vise versa. thats why measuring before you buy is always a safe bet. every inch counts for that perfect fit.

    Bed Cover

your welcome. id post photos of what it looked like before i chopped it up but i cut it up at the spur of the moment and didnt really stop to take photos of the before and after like i had wanted.

    Bed Cover

i have a 69 521 and i got lucky and sourced a fiberglass cover on craigslist with everything (frame, hinges, shocks, and key lock) from a toyota tacoma. its an over the rail style and fit was damn perfect. its a lakeland brand, so maybe you can locate one of these or just do a lot of measuring and scope out craigslist until you find something that fits at a good price. personally it sat a bit to high for the low profile look im going for with the truck so i trimmed it to make a flush mount. i would guess if you wanted to put tools in the bed the extra 3-4" of height i cut would help you out. what the cover looked like before i modified it: http://www.lakelandtruckcaps.com/avenger_tonneau_cover.html
  6. UPDATE* just to make sure that everyone is on the same page... i have 1969 datsun with the beebani disc brake conversion. my wheels were rubbing on the hub and not sitting flush against the disc brake, so i ordered 1/4 spacers... the 1/4 spacers arrived today. i put them on the 521 and found out the following: ~the spacers center bore was plenty big and fit over the protruding hub with out touching the hub, which is good so you wouldnt have to machine the hub. ~the rim's center cap still doesnt fit with the dust cap on, but does fit with the dust cap off. so maybe you could trim the cap and reweld it so that it fits under it or even attempt to beat the top of the cap flat with a hammer until its more flush. ~the stock open ended lug nuts are only about half way threaded on to the lug bolt fully tightened. it was expected but i was curious. some people might not have a problem running them like this but i think its unsafe and i wont risk getting injured just to make the truck look better. to remedy this you would simply have to get extended lug bolts. but for me, ill be machining the hubs and running them without the spacers or center caps, since i already bought the wheels i might as well use them. i might end up doing a 5 lug conversion by getting the hubs and axles filled in and redrilled with a 5 lug pattern. but that is to be decided at a later date. i still have a few other things i need to button up such as tucking my exhaust and coilovers as well as a few other things on a much larger scale.
  7. i gotcha. so you took the pathfinder line in to get made and they couldnt replicate it, so you bought premade stainless line, right?
  8. what do you mean by "no room with the pathfinder lines"?
  9. i went the beebani disc set up as well. after i installed them in noticed my lines were dry rotted and cracked. thanks for the heads up. hopefully they will fit mine as well. now to find an affordable set...
  10. any idea where i can pick up a front set of stainless brake lines for the 521 pick ups. ive been searching around and looking at different brake line companies online and have found nothing. im guessing im just looking in the wrong places. i hope some one can point me in the right direction. if not specifically for the 521 are there any brake lines from a later year, like a hardbody, that would fit. im assuming stainless lines for new trucks are more readily available. any help would be appreciated.
  11. im looking for a lower valance for a 521 that is straight and dent free. i dont care what color or condition of the paint as long as its straight. let me know if anyone has one.
  12. although thats a good idea, i already order the spacers so no point in cutting the drum up. as soon as they get here i will post my findings. i ordered them this weekend so im hoping they will be here by the end of this week.
  13. i looked at mine today as i walked past it
  14. if your talking about smoothing out the part below the doors that actually would look better on this specific set up. just one my opinion.
