The temp gauge is holding right at 185ish. Think i'm good, though its seams I keep seeing white puffs of smoke. Hmmm maybe head gasket?

I'm fairly sure the after market gauges are accurate, been in the truck for 2 engine swaps. MicroMachinery asked if I bleed the air out? How do you do that? It does sorta of seams like vapor lock.

Having some weird temparture reading on the truck. To start I have a L20B in my 74 620. It seams to run a little warm when in normal city driving. When I'm on the freeway it runs hot 230ish. I replaced the tstat this weekend and now my temp gauge is going crazy. From 160 to 230 and back down again within a couple of blocks of driving. Has anyone ever had something simuliar happen? I thought maybe its cavitation of my water pump. Thanks in advance for any help

This has been a great, fun truck. Hate to sell but I need the dough. Located north Seattle. 1974 Datsun PL620 169,000 on body 2nd owner. L20B motor with new front and rear seals 45-60k, new motor mounts, 5-speed dog leg transmission, Weber 32/36 with Offenhauser manifold, 2-1/2” exhaust thrush turbo muffler, split Monza type chrome tip, pathfinder rims in great condition with Kumho tires, new gel red top battery, electronic ignition with new MSD Blaster coil, new shock on all 4 corners, new front rubber brake lines, upgrade 60 amp alternator, gear reduction starter. Clean engine bay. Body is original paint mustard yellow in color. Rust in the lower front fender lower panels (truck comes with addition fenders) floors have been treated but do have holes, small surface rust area on the cab roof, passenger door has small bubbles forming on the lower corner, divers door had the large mirror removed and the mounting holes are still there. The bed has surface rust and seam rust behind the rear passenger wheel well. Hooks have been removed. Truck has been lowered 3” with torsions in front and blocks in the back. Interior, Black, bench seat with some cracks on the driver side, set up with center seat belt, shifter shortened, aux gauges, pillar mounted mini tach. Dash cracked, windshield no major cracks, GT Grant steering wheel, white headliner in ok shape, black door panels good. Kenwood AM/FM/CD, Aux jack with remote control. Rockford Fosgate Punch 40 amp, 2nd 1000 watt cheap amp for the 10” punch sub woofer. This is a nice truck not a junker.
