  1. Well, being a devoted PC person all my life, I will say EVERYTHING on the Mac is easier and more user friendly except when you get into the stuff where you have to mess around in terminal to get something to work. You have to remember that Megatunix is part of the Megatune world which is all grass roots collaboration. No big companies to make it nice and easy functioning :(
  2. Hey guys, any Mac pro's out there? I'm trying to install Megatune on my macbook and I don't understand Terminal. I grew up using DOS. I keep getting an error even when following the instructions: DEBUG: Rebuilding the darwinports base system if needed. Synchronizing from rsync://rsync.darwinports.org/dpupdate/dports @ERROR: Unknown module 'dpupdate' rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at /SourceCache/rsync/rsync-35.2/rsync/main.c(1398) [receiver=2.6.9] DEBUG: Couldn't sync dports tree: sync failed doing rsync while executing "darwinports::selfupdate [array get global_options]" Error: /opt/local/bin/port: selfupdate failed: Couldn't sync dports tree: sync failed doing rsync What does this mean? 3. Hey guys, I'm in need of the complete 3 piece front passenger 510 seat belt. I only need the right side, but would be interested in the set if you don't want to split them up. Let me know what you got! :) Chris
  4. Interested in e-brake cables and hardware to 97202
  5. I feel pretty confident that the A87 in the picture is open or at least a semi-open chamber, and my speculation about running on pump gas is exactly that, just speculation. Chambers would have to be CC'ed. And yes, I don't think a peanut head milled .060 would run on 87 octane...in my unprofessional opinion. Seriously? hmm, I wish there was more info on this subject :( I have read multiple places that the late production 1973 model year 510 L18 was the first JDM EFI. And wow, 10 hp just from EFI that's impressive! Kinda hard to believe it is more than an L18 turbo though, and is this L18T a production motor? I would love to find all of this info in print somewhere, but not sure that will happen....:(
  6. The SSS is for the extra cash when people are tricked  There isn't anything SSS about this that I have ever heard of, just strictly JDM. I noticed that about the head too. They may have done this to bump up compression. It would need cam tower shims, but that's it as far as I know. Not sure why you would need a head gasket shim, and it would likely run on pump gas just fine. Closed chambers will run on pump 87 octane just fine and this is an open chamber. I can't imagine the milling of the head would raise the compression of an open chamber more the a stock closed chamber. The only odd thing I was thinking is I have never heard of the JDM EFI ever coming on an A87 head. Everything I have read says it comes with the W58. I think someone modified this head to use with the EFI. This is what I would prefer. Just the manifold. But I guess for those wanting period correct, or plug and play the kit would be better. I bought mine with all the mechanical stuff, no electronics, and only used the manifold so I could use the little bits and pieces I liked. I noticed it looks like this manifold doesn't have the EGR stuff like mine. Makes me jealous. I still have to cut off my EGR castings, saves some room on the crowded side of the engine bay.

  8. Nice job Luke!! Looks awesome, at the rate that you keep adding projects in it will be on the road in 2012;) BTW I also don't understand how the rear heims pivot.....oh wait, are the rear heims there so that it can pivot when one side of the axle moves up like when you when you put the jack under it? I originally thought it was there to pivot in a linear movement...
  9. Probably not full of shit, but there are enough of us running cv's on lowered 510's and don't have vibration from them. Now u-joints, that's a different story.
  10. Here's some of my trials, maybe you can learn from my mistakes ;) http://the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3562&start=75
  11. Not sure if you know, but you can grab a KA24 throttle body. It bolts right up and works nicely. That's what I've been using for for a few years.
  12. Dude, I didn't say anything because you said you wanted to use the one piece, but I wish I had known you were doing the 3 piece. I have 3 new top pieces in a box in the attic. They were like 16 bucks each when I bought them, I figured I'd stock up. BTW I replaced that stuff and then eventually found my fuel smell which was a loose clamp on the top connection on my vapor tank :( took about 26 seconds to find with a smoke machine..... BTWW I ordered that same catch can the other day :)
