    Air pump?

thanks for the tips guys. I am having a hell of a time getting that thing off of the manifold. those injectors are in there so tight and if i can get a tool on them i have no room to turn it. Im about to take a hack saw to it unless anyone has any ideas. p.s. im using parts from two complete motors to build my new motor so im gonna have a lot of left over parts that i will sell very very reasonable due to my lack of storage. Some of the parts will include a L20 head(not sure which one yet), cam, valve cover, oil pan, stock carb and a lot more. I would exept trade for an engine stand. thanks

    Air pump?

Im on my 5th datsun, but my first engine rebuild(the others i had ran till the day i sold/wrecked them):). So before my L20b threw a rod it appeared to be running fine. It had what i believe is an air pump????? some type of emissions thing im guessing, its got lines running to the exaust manifold and the airfilter and a few other places. when i bought the truck the pump was not hooked up with a drive belt, so im assuming that my engine can do without that crap on there since it wasnt doing anything in the first place. So my question is, can i cap all the holes up and just rip that whole system out of there? it did have the stock carb but a weber is going on it before it goes back in. thanks!

    L20B rebuild.

I have been away from the datsun scene for a few years but i just got on this forum for the first time and this is by far the best datsun forums i have ever been on. I bought a 78 king cab 3 months ago and just as the truck was about to roll over 300k i threw a rod and put a tennis ball size hole in the side of the block. I have another engine that appears to be in good shape. The engine is completly disasembled and im gonna attempt to build my first engine and drop it in. If anyone has any tips on good literature, problems i might run into, or just any of those little tricks that you learn from building several of these motors that they could share with me, that would be awsome
