  1. The wires you need to tap into are the wires that went to the S chassis engine bay plug. Don't cut anything at the ECU. The diagram mike link to is one I made years ago. Your motor wiring is the same as the turbo version. I had the NA CA18 in a 510 20 years ago. What a great engine.
  2. Roller bearings in the idler arm?
  3. Electric power steering from a toyota Pruis I think the same unit was in some other models. It's cool because if it doesn't get a signal it will just go into limp mode at half power which is perfect for a 510 with wide tires.
  4. update! Zero stink (okay still the smell of baby oil slightly from the smoke machine) wow I wish I would have known how to fix this 20 years ago. Such a nicer car to drive. I have a cut up quarter panel in the back yard. Here is a picture of where the stink access the cabin. You can see the cutouts for the vent it he C pillar and into the cabin. Now to install a stereo. Been driving it a lot. Still a list of items to fix. This is the next project. This collage intern at work got a "new" car. Pretty cool guys are into old stuff still! His buddy bought a Tesla haha.
  5. You gotta measure the bump steer with those gauges to know what it's doing. We need pictures to know exactly what's going on.
  6. They way I do it is email them from my phone to my computer and choose the "large" size then when I post from my computer I use the photos from my email and use the paperclip button and add them to the post.
  7. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Nothing beats forced induction.
  8. These are what he has Mike. They are a design that came about from the Corolla drifters. I would never run them on any car I wanted to drive on the street. Like Matt said they are just adding more scrub. There are all kinds of good YouTube videos going over how to adjust your bump steer.
  9. All the little bits do add up quick!!!! We’ve learned a lot and know what to skip next time.
  10. Like the guys above said for sure do toe in up front. I would also add you have a million adjustable comments. Which is awesome for a racecar. There is a million wrong combination for a street car. Have you done a bump steer test and adjusted the bump out? Your -5 offset wheels are killing your scrub radius. I agree with the late Baz (of Datsport) when he said usually the issue with most 510’s is the scrub radius. With our narrow cars riding on the crown of the road it makes it pull all over the place. when James, Sam and I designed the rack and pinion kit we used to sell we wanted the least amount of adjustment possible. Just design it right. Leave a little room for tuning and that’s it. Could you do some testing? I would say adjust toe to toe in. Then borrow some wheels with a more positive offset and run them on the same route as the -5 wheels and see how it drives. Keep us posted.
  11. I still have the fuel tank leak... But Soon that will be fixed. Little by little with old cars. I mean it's just a drip. Can't a guy still drive it? I also removed those wires. Some sort of added in extra brake lights. Yeah we are just going to drive it anyways.
  12. Got my coupe going again. Lost all the brakes a while ago. I procrastinated because i thought the JDM replacement for the brake switch was giant T making the system if you lost any of the brakes you lost all of them. Turns out I was wrong. unfortunately I had to pull it all part to find out. After fixing the brakes I wanted to figure out how the exhaust stink was getting in the car. I borrowed Josh's smoke machine. He said the smoke stinks but using other methods I just wasn't able to get any results. So I decided just to fill the car with smoke. Like my younger years. Found the leaks! I never noticed until doing this you can look from the trunk area and see the chrome vents in the C pillar. Pretty obvious why the stink is getting into the cabin. Although while doing this I noticed my fuel tank leaks.... swap O rings with a used one and it still leaks. I ordered one from Nissan. While ordering parts for the coupe I ordered a new thermostat since the motor never seems to warm up. I was wrong... again..... but it was nice to know what's really inside all these parts. Yep it stinks. Found the problem! I actually pulled the rear seat and quarter panel trim pieces adn used this fancy tape from work. Which did help some. But this is the real problem. I hope. Added some space tape!
  13. I drew this up and we printed it at work on the resin printer. OG in black, first try in orange and latest in clear, which looks so cool!!!! It's a heater lever handle for a roadster.
