  1. Hey guys, Last time I had my A12 engine rebuilt was 20 years ago. Carl Stirtz did the machine work and I believe he has since closed. Any recommendations of automotive machine shops, preferably in the East Bay? It'd be nice if they are familiar with A-Series engines but it could be anyone. I'm not looking to do anything special, just a basic rebuild. Likely need new pistons as the ring grooves are opened up and a couple of bores look like they need more than a hone. thanks, Angelo
  2. I don't think this is available anymore but it was a medium sized car cover from costco. The flapping in the wind polished some spots of my jacked up paint but otherwise seemed ok. It's a little loose but it doesn't touch the ground. Pic is of my 1200 2dr sedan. Costco "Premium Car Cover" Size Medium,Item #347994, About $30 Advertised Dimensions: 178"/452cm L, 64"/162cm W, 45"/114cm H http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=22603&cid=16
  3. Here are some more fuel fill ideas. My concern with the boat fill caps is that they have a lot of turns to remove. http://www.batinc.net/aero.htm http://www.batinc.net/aston.htm
  4. Any pics of the engine bay, carbs, exhaust before you pull it? What kind of cam does it have?
  5. Replaced my battery. It has been fading away these last few months. It finally would not turn over today. I just realized that the old battery has been in this car since I put it together 11-1/2 yrs ago. I've never had a battery last that long.
  6. GG does this one jumper keep the alt light functioning?
  7. Have a safe trip Dave. Wish I could drive down, too, but I have trust issues with my car and no time to fix it.
  8. This works good for the sidemarkers, too.
  9. Car show FAIL. No permits, cops shut it down. Where are all the Datsuns going?
  10. Is this happening again this year? I just saw this on facebook but haven't seen it anywhere else. http://www.facebook....38467956175340/ Last year was nice. Lots of people and damn near every type/style car.
  11. The orange car in the Shasta pic is/was Burabuda's. That's him with the "bighat". I'm the one with the flip-flops. Congrats on the new car.
  12. GG, do you know if these crush tubes are still available?
  13. Well then, I certainly was not expecting anything like this. There must have been 2000 people there.
  14. Here's a pic of my 1200. I was driving "safe" making a left turn on my green light. This dude in a Dakota slammed on his brakes an slid through the intersection. He was probably doing 35mph when he hit me. I hit my head on the passenger door sill. I had a little bump on my head and some fat bruses from the lap belt. If I had a passenger with me I think the story would have been much different. I do believe that the newer cars with airbags, advanced crumple zones, etc are alot safer. What I'm afraid of are the people that drive those cars a more "recklessly" with that extra sense of security. For example, on the freeway, in a down pour, I start to hydroplane at around 50mph. That's with new tires. At the same time I'm being passed by people doing 60 or 70 with newer cars and their Stability Controls, etc. As for how to drive safe, I just pretend I'm invisible. So sure, why wouldn't that guy change lanes on me, there's nobody there, I'm invisible.
  15. http://www.nissanparts.cc/cart/?pn=32604-H9700+ Good luck, that yellow dot usually means it's out of stock. The MG guys are taking these transmissions and using them with an adaptor kit in their Migets or Sprites or whatever.
