I'm on my 4th 3rd member....in just under 2500 miles B)

I've got a chevy 355 small block(325 hp),... and the stock rear end(when I bought the truck) was "beefed up" and a home made locker to handle the extra power, but it didn't last,.....now on my 4th 3rd member.......do a 9" or atleast an 8.8 or 10 bolt...

I've got a chevy 355(325 horsepower) in my 620 now(had a 327 when I bought it 5 years ago)..... My firewall was cut, and a 6" "dog house" was welded in. But I need to shorten a Ford 9" rear first, as the stock Datsun rear cannot take any abuse(blown up 3 so far). I just purchased a GM L33 aluminum 5.3 Litre with a Corvette LS6 top end....will probably start on that swap next year. A typical Gen 1 small block chevy can be done, there are a few around here... as far as the Ford Coyote/Modular 4.6/5.4 litre....I think it might be just too wide(at the valve covers) to fit in a typically stock Datsun engine bay. A small block Ford has been done too, with lots of room to spare(disty is on the front).....up to you, and your capabilities/budget!!!

How's this project going???...I too am in the planning stages of another Chevy V8 swap.....taking out my old and tired 327, and looking to put in either a 5.3 liter from an '04 truck OR an '06 6.0 liter from a Denali.....you have any pics or atleast an update on your progress???

depth in the 6 coats of PPG Jet Black paint.reflection of 180 foot cell phone tower .....ghosted airbrushing of Black Widow spider and webbing...can barely see it from 8+ feet away.....

That thing is sick as hell......That is a lot of work.....

up here where I am...anything older than 1993 will be written off, for a keyed(scratched) paint surface.....broken headlight, or even a minor scuff.....the government wants these "old polluting junkers off the road"

I was looking into a Ford 8.8" rear from an Explorer or Ranger....VERY close to same overall length(Ford=49"..iirc : Datsun=48" backing plate to backing plate). Stock form "should take 400hp"....which is plenty strong for a "stock V-6" and come with a 3.08 or 3.55 or 4.10 ratio....so have options there....and come with either drums or discs if you want to upgrade to a little better stopping power. only a 5 bolt lug pattern, so different wheels will be needed.

yeah...the tip is gone..redid the entire exhaust... it WAS the APC one with the led's lights....
