  1. i finally relocated the battery in my truck to where the charcoal canister used to be. i don't know if anybody has posted pictures about this before, but here are mine. I used a mazda miata battery. I was going to use a battery for a harley but found the miata battery is the same size but has 475 cca compared to the harley battery at 400 cca. it fit perfect. i lined the compartment with inner tube rubber.

    timing chain

I bought a new timing chain kit for my L20B. The chain only has one shiny link and no other marks on other links. can somebody tell me how many links there are supposed to be between the two marked links.
  3. I know I know its not a wagon. the front license plate frame says red wagon. it was on there when I got the truck so the name just stuck. sounds better than red truck.
  4. I am a sergeant at San Quentin State Prison in California. I've been there for 7 years.
  5. I'm slowly rebuilding an L20B for the red wagon. My dad had the engine sitting out back, so I took it and had it surfaced and borred .30 over. I had an engine that I pulled out of my truck sitting by my garage that I pulled the head off of and it turned out to be an A87 closed chamber that was already borred out. that goes to the shop next to be cleaned up and resurfaced. everything will be new by the time I'm done. I'm also trying to recover the old dash that was in the truck. it looked like sharky the shark was driving it and took a bite out of the dash. so I took two pieces of cardboard and taped it to the dash and made a mold. Then I filled it up with expanding foam. after it dried, I trimmed it and sanded it. It worked awesome. Now I'm trying to figure out the corners and stuff to make it look good. Other projects in the planning stages are relocating the battery, electric fuel pump, upgraded alternator with internal regulator, and electronic distributor.
  6. nice find.. love the Carls Jr. numbers in the windshield.
  7. wow!! you were right, its low. ill have to post pictures since i lowered mine 2". not quite as dramatic as yours but i like making it over speed bumps!! haha.
  8. has anyone out there ever rebuilt a dogleg? If so, was it harder than a Z 5 speed? I've helped rebuild one of those but am aprehensive to dig into a dogleg by myself.

  10. Just started working on my 72 521. ( my 4th 521 ) I will post pictures as I go. Love the sight. My brother turned me on to it. the picture you see is after i put new rims on it. I got this truck at the junk yard as you see it, with dual su carbs. took it home, put some gas in and it fired up. couldn't believe it.
  11. thanks guys for the info. My brother was asking for me. my measurements are different than yours though. my measurements are 1 7/8" forward and 3/4" down. I don't know why my measurements are so far from yours?
