    Please help ASAP!

Long story short, I am back in the NW working for a while. I needed a car to get around and found a beat up 84' 720rwd for cheap, slapped a weber on her and she runs like a top! However there is previous owner wiring insanity. I doubt this is related but when I swapped out the stock carb for the weber, the gauges & flashers stopped working! the only thing I did was unplug the old carb choke wiring. I checked the circuit fuse and it was blown, swapped it out and it blew again but worked for a couple seconds... did a check with a slightly bigger fuse and it still blew but my gauges and flashers worked for a few seconds. My main concern is the flashers as I am working in downtown Seattle. the emergency flash switch works and is not the problem(very familiar with that one) I am far away from home and don't have many tools or any of my FSM with me unfortunately. I have been checking around the truck for obvious shorts or electrical craziness from the previous owner without any luck. I head to work tomorrow at 6 am so I only have a few hours to hopefully fix it. I really don't think I have the right tools to get into the gauge cluster which is probably where the short is also. Any ideas are awesome!
  2. Does your weber have an idle cut solenoid? 90% of engines that die with webers have been an issue with the idle cut solenoid.
  3. ok so if you are trying to wire it to your 3 prong plug, the red goes to one prong, the black to another and the third to the neutral. then you can run an independent ground if you want. use your multimeter to test the leads on your 3 prong plug but the two diag plug should be the hots and the vertical prong is the neutral.
  4. it uses two hot legs off individual breakers (black/red) and the white is plain old neutral and the green is ground. its a way to run more power to a unit and use smaller breakers.
  5. I thought it was about her bust being as big as it is in the poster... That bitch is flat as a board!
  6. I am not a historical gun expect by any means! I just think the larger mag is a bit absurd!
  7. Chuckle, my SKS is the same and I even have some shitty Russian steel cased hollow point rounds to go with it and an absurd banana mag!
  8. Am I close enough with a burn barrel (sans nice hinged lid) a 720 and a SKS?
  9. It blew my mind when I first got down here (being from Seattle) How everyone and I mean EVERYONE pulls all the way over for emergency vehicles. In Seattle, the only reason people pull SLIGHTLY over is to get behind the fire truck and use it as a blocker!
  10. I am WAY the fuck up in the mountains of Arizona where life is almost like the 80's! People correct my lack of pronouns from my conditioning at work in the city! I love it here, I still work in the all the major metropolitan areas though. The only thing I miss while at home in the mountains is the epic food cities have to offer. As far as your bullshit boat citation, that is the kind of pedantic crap that forced me out of the city. I audited two years of criminal justice so I would have some ability to stand up for myself in the legal system and have fought every ticket/citation since... Haven't lost a case yet. That being said, living in the city is nothing like life in the deep country and I acknowledge there are more complications with more people. Possibly the cliche' of having your cake and eating it too applies... I dearly love Asian food, foreign films, an active arts community, and Datsuns, However when at home in the mountains I have to settle for cheeseburger's, The Barbie movie, tractor pulls, & fords!
  11. I think building codes are important for city & suburban construction. I don't have a neighbor for a mile in any direction and live WAY out of town. I built a 16x12 cabin which is under 200 square feet and not required to have a permit for. HOWEVER, it cannot be a dwelling (living space). My cabin obviously is a dwelling... Life is different up here and I wasn't too worried about it. A couple weeks ago some county guys came out looking for another plot by mine and noticed my cabin. They were very cool though and said it was obvious I knew what I was doing, was improving the land, and I wasn't some meth head and left. I could still get fined from some over eager asshole from the county but was blown away to have a GOOD interaction with a government official!
  12. For the sake of debate, I am conservative and support the majority of institutions, military, and property rights. However I must say the broken record mudslinging of the leftist/liberal party is puzzling.
