1. Just got word of a yellow 73 610 hardtop for sale in So Cal. :) (714) 928-5881 for complete details:blink: Pretty sure the price is in the 610 ratsun price range:lol::lol: Seller asked me to spread the word if anyone wants an affordable 610:mellow:
2. Spoken like a real 610 fanatic! Good eye on the sheet metal covers. Did you notice the rear side marker grey plastic blanking plates? Those are what come on the Aussie cars. They are not even wired for side marker lights in the rear. lites can be easily spliced in to the wiring harness though, that's what I am going to do on the 180B.:D Maybe you can grab those fenders from Frankenstein if he is going to swap to the fiberglass ones. I might try and get fiberglass ones for the blue one that has those 74 ones on it with the sheet metal covers.
3. Yeah, last year at least there was an orange 610 goon along with my green goblin 180B sss :D I was all alone in the 610 section but got to be next to the really nice Ken Mary! Notice the wrong fenders for the 73? Can sort of get away with the sheet metal covers on a race car:rolleyes: Unfortunately too many people are abandoning their 610's or trying to sell them off. Hopefully we can get Bonvo and Zero out next time to represent more 610's. I know there's more out there, but they are hiding.
4. http://www.talbotco.com/ Here are all the cool lights and mirrors. :) Cibie uses an internal yellow bulb cover. About 200. bucks though:eek:
5. Thanks for clairifing that. I think someone thought there were 2 710's there, but I only saw the one blue one. Wish there were more 610's there, but they seem to be all going for sale or scrapped now. :( A beautiful white ken/mary was parked right next to me and stold most of my thunder, but that's cool because I overheard some people looking at the 610 say how much it looks like that Skyline next to me. I always thought it was like a baby C110/Ken Mary also. Good to see the Ratsun crowd and cars there and pass by the caravan for early trailer drop off:D The 610 racecar is not equipped with any type of fans for cooling at idle speeds. Has a 3 row radiator, but will still overheat if not moving over 40 mph constant. Fans=lost horsepower I will try and get some pics up, but it may take a while since I used a prehistoric disposable camera and have to get the pics developed on disc to upload them. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that I was hoping for Adam Carolla to bring his BS 33 610 out, but it seems that the trans went out while racing it at the historic vintage Cornado races. I'll catch you next time Adam! Hopefully on the track, that is!:fu:
6. Best place for those tires is a little known of place called tires-easy.com Got my 225/50/14 Toyo RA1's there for the rear and 205/55/14 Toyo RA1's for the front on 7.5 Wats. Front and rear overall diameter is the same spec according to the toyo web site. Also check Toyo's webpage directly for wide selection of tires in those 13 and 14's. Hoosier- (Daddy) :lol:also has a good selection, but mostly full race spec:D
7. Yeah, Belgrade is the capitol of Serbia. Nice to see my fellow ancestors working hard on their 610's! Maybe one of them is my Uncle or something? My Dad would have got a kick out that video, since he had a 610 back in the mid 70's, which started my whole 610 madness. First car I ever drove when I was about 8 years old was his 610. Well, steered anyway.
8. Those are Datsun 180B's. Only called 610's in the USA, but still the 610 series. For the home Japan market they were the Bluebird U's and basically in the rest of the world outside of the US they were called 180B's. 180=1800cc and B for Bluebird = 180B! For the US market Bluebird probably did not sound masculine enough, just like the Fairlady Z's. Mr. K sure read the US market well. That one looks to be a SSS that came with the dual Hitachi carbs. Interesting air intake though. Sort of like the EFI version without the fuel injection! The earlier ones had an air box like the RHD versions, but slightly smaller to clear the brake booster on the LHD models. Sadly, no SSS dual carb 610's were marketed in the US. I seem to think that it is also in Yugoslavia. If my Dad were still alive, I could have confirmed it instantly since he was Serbian and spoke fluently, but I did not pick it up, only the curse words..... Nice to see restoration on these worldwide!
9. Life after Datsun's? The only way to seperate me from a Datsun 610 is either to pry me from a wreckage of one or by death! I guess I am just a die-hard 610 Fanatic! It started when I was a child and grew in to an obsession. Let's face it my friends, the 610's are the oddball misfits which of course is why they are so cool and rare and unique also. Speaking from my own personal experience, I seem to think that they go well with someone who is similar to the car and likes to be different from the pack. :D
10. I hope it runs till late. I Don't get off work until 10:30 normally. Gonna try and leave work early and get there before 11:00 :)
11. Goin to try and give Adam Carolla a run for his money and bring out the blue 73 610 Rebello Racing machine to JCCS  It's a bit more rough around the edges than the BS one that he has, but oh well, it's a race car, not a museum piece... Just got a new red top Optima batt for it and going to change the old leaky braided fuel lines that run from the fuel cell through the car pass compartment to the carb. No fun to have race fuel spewing all over inside the car while it is running! Will retain the old rusty flowmaster muffler which still sounds tough as nails! Maybe get rid of some spider webs too! Last year I made the mistake of registering as a Bluebird U with the 180B SSS Datto and got sardined in with the 510's! Maybe if enough 610's show, they could have a 610 section some day?
12. I've heard good things about magnaflows also, but I thought they cost more? yeah, anything larger than 2 1/4 would strictly be for wide open racing horsepower at top ends speeds. Need the backpressure and low end torque for daily driver/street use. There may have been a kit made for cable conversion by redline. I actually prefer the mechanical linkage with a strong return spring. I think that the fuel injected 610's from Japan had cable type to operate the throttle body. That carb can also be modified to run at full power at all times by converting it to a synchronuous type and having both barrels open together instead of waiting for the secondary to kick in at half to full throttle. It will give more low end power and torque that way and only use a bit more fuel. Much cheaper than an outlaw 38/38 but with similar results. The SCCA requires the use of the 32/36 for ITB, but allows for the modification to it for maximum power output.
13. "im hoping to get the exhaust done sometime next week not sure if it will happen but im hopping :P" Great to see other 610 fanatics getting the 610's back on the road! Keep up the good work! Flowmaster just lost their patent licensing and now there are knockoffs available made in China or Mexico that look, sound, rust and smell just like the originals, lol, but may be a little bit cheaper to get. I was going to put on a used Flowmaster with new pipe, and it would have cost around 215. with the hangers, but instead I was able to get a new knockoff for just 30. bucks more complete with 2 and a quarter inch pipe, bends, welds and hangers. 2 and a quarter inch pipe just clears through the hole in the X-member without hitting on torque up. 2.5 might fit, but could hit the sides and resonate the whole car! Had that happen before. Does your Weber carby have a cable linkage on it? If so, are you going to convert to cable from mechanical?
14. Purple is the coolest! One of my 74 610's is a deep plumb/burgundy/black cherry, factory color and a lot of people called it purple and it gets lots of looks. The Mopar purple is perfect since the 610's are like mini Mopars anyway! Also on the 610 color chart, there was a purple like the Mopar one.
15. What the heck is that welded on growth? Looks like some sort of tumor! Very strange.......otherwise looks like a stock fuel cap should work or a stant locking one for a 610:confused:
