I understand, but how is getting a car down to 1500lbs with 300 hp not a brilliant idea? Tube chasis, carbon fiber doors, hood, fenders and trunk, with a lightweight SR20DET and aluminum wheels, sure it will cost $$, but if you have it wouldnt you want the fastest ride? Im still in the thinking stages. Hell i was even looking at a hartley H1 V8 motor, but $30K is just crazy no matter how much dough you have .

Ok well we would have to add in a full roll cage because from my calculations this car would do 0 to 60 in under 3 secs and the 1/4 mile in 10.5, talk about a good time!

I was just thinking what it would take to get a 510 to 1500lbs with motor and everything. Start out with a 2 dr, completely gut it with only race essentials, then do a complete carbon fiber body and lightweight aluminum wheels, and what would be the lightest engine we could throw in there that would make 300hp?

Well i just heard that you would have to find the person who has the title otherwise you are shit out of luck? what about a rebuilders title? How does all of this effect the fact that he wants to drive the car daily?

Im hoping to score a cheap used welder on craigslist for under $300

If you were a do it yourselfer working on your 510 in your garage, what type of welder would you need? would a 220v mig welder be good enough for body work and motor mounts etc?

So my buddy is looking at a nice 2dr datsun with a good price, however the owner does not have a title, is this going to be a problem, how do you go about getting a new title? I have no clue. Hes in colorado btw.
