  1. I have a '71 510 4 door, L20 B, A87 Peanut head, twin SU carbs. I am wanting to upgrade my braking system to the max and after a year of ordering parts online I took my car ( named Clunk ) with all the parts ordered for a 510 along with 289Z struts into the shop for the assembling. Problem is it seems that all these parts will not work with the struts. So, is there a kit or what parts do I need..? Already spent over 900 dollars and need to lo_ball while making sure it works.
  2. Thanks for the feedback Dimers. As it seems the upgrade would be a waste of time/$ I'm going to forgo it. Also, the coil is made in China. I am never going to buy Accel ever.
  3. I have stated already what setup I have, twice. A 1971 Datsun 510 with a Stock Coil. No Points with a Stock Distributor.
  4. Took the points out of the distributer years ago, I hate them. Otherwise, Stock setup...
  5. '71 510, L20B, dual 38mm,SU's. I have the stock coil but am thinking of going to an Accel 45kv coil. I am wondering if it's really worth it to gain 15k v... Input requested. I know it's not a major thing but...!
  6. Try here 4 calipers: http://www.brakewarehouse.com/remanufactured_brake_calipers.asp Different colors to add a bit 'o flash. SummitRacing is another good source.
  7. The housing has 2 bolts, 1 long and the other quite short. There is a hose coming off the housing but it's blocked off. Been that way as long as I can remember.
  8. Replaced plugs 2 weeks or so ago, 2 were a touch rich the others ok. Will now go start and run the engine and look 4 bubbles... Just did that, no bubbles but the water pump is working fine. increase revs and the flow rate increases, like it was planned that way or somethin'... No compression tester to hand. will need to go buy 1
  9. I checked water flow last year and indeed was moving along nicely. Looked at the hoses recently and they were round. But that was when cold.
  10. As I recall it is a 180 but with age comes memory loss so will check....
  11. Rad is 3 row, rebuilt about 4 months go. No leaves et. The bottom shroud is in place as is the 1 behind the 7 blade fan. Blades look ok. Hoses are not collapsed @ idle, I checked that 2 days ago. @ speed, who knows. The hoses are fairly new. i do have an oil cooler in front of the rad but that was installed to help with the overheating. Waste of $. The heater core has been blocked off for a decade. This is California after all :). L20B thermostat housing with a mechanical sender as about 10 people said it's the gauge, It wasn't. New water pump, belt...Hummm.....
