  1. I would like to attend this one, Has the route been decided I am a few hours from the areas that have been discussed So i just want to make sure i can plan this out ahead of time. Michael
  2. Fortunately the first shop gave me the cam with the cam towers still on I did ask if that was exactly how it came out, They said yes. I did put it together and did spin the cam it is a little tight but i can still spin the cam. I did buy my tower shims from Silver Seal. Actually want to THANK YOU banzai510 for you excellent video I have watched it over and over while doing my disassembly and now will watch it while doing my assembly. I am going to finish putting the head together and not worry about these pieces. Thank You
  3. Hello Ratsun. Recently I had my head shaved.....oh and my Datsun head too. LOL Can anyone tell me what these 4 (? Dowels) are for. I did not remove them from my head but when i went to pick up my cam towers, cam and rockers from a shop that took them off my head they were in the box they gave me. I have looked every where on the head and can not seem to find where they go. This is a W53 closed chamber head. Any help would be appreciated. Same 4 dowels different view Thanks Mike
  4. I don't know Mr. Espy but i wish the best for him and his family.
  5. I have replaced my stock struts with 280zx struts so i have my stock struts and spindles sitting by idle. Well i am a big dwarf car fan and those cars use a modified toyota spindle. the toyota spindles and hubs a 4x4.5 just like the stock 510. I want to build a set of dirt track spindles for a dwarf car using the 510 spindles i have cut the strut tube off and used a hole to open the bottom of the spindle to 1 3/4. I plan on sliding a 1 3/4 .250 wall tube through the whole and weld out both sides. in the image you can see that the tube will slide in perfectly and give me a nice tight fit. i need to weld both side of the tube out to the stock spindle. I will be able to use the hubs and disc brake setup on my dwarf car and not have to hunt down toyota parts.
  6. Hello all I am trying to figure out if the Datsun 510 spindles are forged or cast. I need to do some welding on them and i do see there is weld from the factory so i am under the belief that they are forged. I read somewhere that some people have cut the strut tube off the spindles and have had a machine shop remove the left over strut tube and weld to weld in different strut tubes. Anyway if anyone can help i would appreciate it. Thanks Mike G
  7. Datzenmike Thanks for the link Lots of reading and very informative. Honestly I am a little lost in most of the language but I am now confident that i will keep all of the stock components and just replace the lines that need to be replaced. Thanks again for the link. Mike G
  8. Cool thanks. So just to clarify since i have upgraded my brakes to 200sx discs in the rear and discs in the front do I still need to add a proportioning valve or will the stock unit be fine? Or if I get a new proportioning valve do i need to eliminate the stock unit. Thanks alot for the info on what it does. Mike G
  9. Hello all I am in the process of building a rally car (using my 72 2 door 510) I have to redo the brake lines and I believe that this is a distribution block for the brakes. Do i need this or can i do away with it when i run new lines. and what is its overall purpose. Searches are not bringing up any good explanations of what this does. Any help or advice would be very helpful and appreciated. Mike G
