Doesnt mean its right, but people will do it to make a vehicle all tidy (for one reason) - whether is right or wrong is a personal thing, and some might use it to try and deceive which is wrong (historical racing, upgrade model change etc). Misrepresentation to someone else at a sale should not be tolerated and I hope that no one here would try it.
At the end of the day I will check anything I buy as much as I can and get as much knowledge as I can so that Im satisfied when I hand over the cash - unless you are one of the few that I trust.
Just so everyone knows, I have one in my datsun as it didnt come with one in all the parts that made up the project when I brought it, and I really didnt like the plain ali sheet with the code punched in it that was used to get it back on the road. If I ever sell it I will let the buyer know and the VIN stamp is there too to confirm in the system.
