It seems to have a blank spot mostly in first or second when in low rpms, does this sound like a vacuum leak? I just put a new hitachi carb in had to replace accelerator pump on it but now its has this problem.

I literally cant find a fuel mixture heater.. tryed my local nissan dealership.. searched online and at several local auto parts warehouses.. im thinking i might have to fab one myself.

yes the one with electrical connection and where is the accelerator pump located?

My mechanic says I should replace the plastic base plate before the carburetor and also my accelerator pump isnt working.. just got it back from him and it drove like shit... im just gonna throw on my old carb any ideas where to get a new base plate from before i do this?

okay so the mechanic said my fuel pump is shit and suggested i get a new one, he also said he fixed the problem with it not getting power and says all in all about 2 hours time plus the cost of fuel pump, im pretty pleased thought it would be more time, he says hes owned my same truck and put over 300k miles on it so im feelin pretty good about it.

Thanks everybody for advise, im gonna see what mechanics have to say and go from there, im just so tired of trying to fix it, want it reliable again like it was for months.

I replaced that a few months ago im willing for it to be somewhat expesnive as long as they fix whats wrong with it, do you think its likely my fuel pump? i figured it couldnt be that because it was shotting gas to carb and was literally brand new, but mechanics do say the float bowl is empty...

I replaced it myself with one from orielly ive had to replace it several times the past year, i had it hardwired to the ignition for awhile before replacing relay and it seemed fine after replacing the relay so I took off hardwire.. Im gonna just tell them to do that, all I took it to the mechanic for was to get carb adjusted now they are telling me the fuel pump isnt getting power...

Its a 85 nissan 720 i just replaced fuel pump relay and fuel pump and just put on new hitcachi carb... Fuel pump seemed to be working before I dropped it off there, well I heard a clicking coming from it, what would cause it to not get power?

I adjusted brand new hitachi carb a bit high top get it to idle but now when I go to drive it cuts out in first and second, can someone give me advise on tuning it better? My book is at my friends so I dont really know which screw does what, thank you.

Is the idle cut solenoid attached to the carb? because it seems unlikely that national carbs would send me a carb with a bad part on it.

Thanks for the info I thought maybe i needed to replace the ecu but im going to have a friend go to start it while I listen near the carb because that sounds about right, well see. Thanks.

I just replaced the carb with a reman hitachi and it dies when i let off the gas , when I unplug ecu it doesnt do this but idles very high.
