  1. Thanks for all the help guys, yeah I do know how to work on cars, can weld a bit (flux core) and have all the necessary tools. Suspension is lowered on 280zx cut struts with bump steer spacers, front discs in the front Its just hard coming for a DD thats turbo'd and quick to a carbed l16 haha, the only reason for the build and that it would be nice to have a good pull in the 510 like i did when my first 2door had the ka24e swap
  2. no i haven't swapped an efi engine, did have a 73 2 door sedan that had a ka24e, torque was a monster. sr20det sounds like it the sr20 was actually a sr20 vvl from a nissan primera, so it is jdm not from a sentra. i think they're still fwd so not an option sr20det it is, craigslist here in california doesn't even show ka24de's...
  3. thanks guys for the information, now to source the sr20 whether it be det or ve
  4. I currently run an l16 with 32/36 on a matching dogleg 5 spd. Looking into engine swaps now! Question is, anyone know anything about sr20ve? They're NA, so less shit to put in the bay than a turbo with all its components, ie intercooler. I know sr20det's are popular but the sr20ve has variable valve timing for some equivalent numbers as the turbo sr20. I just can't get the transmission with the sr20ve, so will it bolt right up to the dogleg 5?
  5. thanks for all the help guys, dropped the half shafts and got them out.
  6. Thanks guys they are 280zx ones with vented rotors. Got the bump steer spacers for the 280zx Thanks for the help guys
  7. Alright pretty easy question and because I haven't been around Datsuns for a while I'm here... So I have a dime, but its been modified a bit from the owner before the PO, the last guy wasn't too aware of the suspension, but it looks like modified 240z or 240sx strut casings, I got some bumpsteer spacers from T3 for the 20z, they do not fit bolt to the steering knuckles properly. The holes on the spacers are too far wide, meaning the knuckle holes are too narrow. Any idea what spacers I should buy that have more narrow holes? Do steering knuckles on the 510 have more narrow holes?
  8. Right I know, I just need to know how to get the spring out. t3 Coilovers are going to be ordered eventually. I just was hoping for a short term fix to see the stance by cutting the springs. So go ahead and disconnect the half shaft from the hub? I was hoping this wasn't the case because the bolts are difficult to get to
  9. Alright guys, came back to Dastun from a 1974 toyota te27 that had leafs. Trying to lower it a bit so theres no wheel gap. I know that too low will cause postive camber. The car is a 71 4 door, I believe at one point it belonged to Datsloco because of the banner. Springs look like d50 springs, up front I have shortened 280zx struts. My questions is... Do I need to lower the subframe to gain access to the rear springs? Or do I need to disconnect the hub from the differential? I took the shock off and lowered the arm but its not enough travel to take the rear springs. Thanks for the help guys
