Odd. Never even heard of a matchbox going out. Hitachi and Denso set the standard for high quality ignition components.

If yours is a swap, careful, the resistor is to lower the current to the points, yours may not have a need for that so if you do install it, it will be lower current than you need.

Where in the world did an A10 ever come with points ignition??

This may be a little bit of brand bias, but I really believe in the early 1970's, Datsun made much better cars and trucks across the whole model line than Toyota.

Compare a 521 to a Hilux truck.  Compare a Corolla to a 510.  Compare a Celica to a 240Z.

Oh and Honda, they had the N600.

To most people, Toyota didnt even matter until the late 80s and then finally they won over American in the 1990s.

Correction, the Celica looks a lot like the Mustang.
In fact, if you look at most 70's Japanese cars they are all some sort of amalgamation or reinterpretations of 60's US cars. One of the things I like about them :)

So true.....

Got a quick question for yall. Does the stock Ignition coil on our cars have a internal resistor? I removed mine a while ago for some reason and cant remember how it went in and i cant seem to find it in my garage...lol. Getting ready to wire up the ignition shit and just trying to wrap my mind around a few things

By resister, are you referring to the white porcelain resistor found on points ignition Datuns? Unsure what you're referring to otherwise.

Just go buy a coil for a 1989 240SX for your KA swap.
