  1. Thanks everyone for your help. I've decided to start at $5k. http://community.ratsun.net/classifieds/item/3081-1979-datsun-210/ Thanks everyone.
  2. Unfortunately, due to parking (I live in SF and have two cars already), I need to put my 210 up for sale because I do not want her to get destroyed by the weather and the city and I am not sure how much it is worth. Including the the price of the car, I have spent about $7k. The car is a true survivor with only 27,050 miles, 3sp auto, all original equipment, an immaculate interior, everything works, fairly straight body and minimal rust. The roof of the car was re-painted at one time and there is some surface rust but can easily be taken of. Here is a list of the work I have done in the past 2k miles. Rebuilt transmission Rebuilt Carb New shocks New struts New tires New Radiator New rear brake cylinders New belts Cons - Some surface rust Some small dents and dings To view photos of the car visit: http://www.flickr.com/x/t/0091009/photos/117943056@N06/sets/72157641140581863/ Any input on how much my baby is worth, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
  3. Thanks guys and sorry for the duplicate posts. That was not intentional. When I initially posted it didn't go through and I clicked the button a couple times. User error.
  4. I cannot find this part anywhere and any help you might have would be appreciated. The car won't pass smog. The part # is: 14832-H7361 You can see it in the image at: https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/nissan/part/USA/N10/148 as #14832. Thanks!
  5. @jesusno2 and @Ranman72. Thanks for the advice and I'll scout out tripple240z. Happy up coming 4th. John
  6. Thanks for all the help. As it turns out, the idle issue was a combination of the idle screw needing to be slightly adjusted and blasting a couple of gas tanks through the car with some sea foam. The car wasn't driven regularly and needed to be cleaned out. I do need to address slight automatica transmission hesitation and occasionally, the transmission will not shift to a higher gear until it reaches 30mph. Usually is shifts at about 17mph. When it reaches about 29mph and has not shifted, I take my foot off the gas and reapply pressure to the pedal and it shifts. Now sure if the issue is with the transmission or with an adjustment on the carb.
  7. Topping off the ATF helped with the transmission issue. Thanks @DatsunMechanic!
  8. Good call. Will give that a try. Would be awesome if it was that simple of a fix.
  9. Thanks DM - I've tried that. I get the idle about 750-800 in park but when I get it in to gear it drops to about 500-600 and it feels like at times it wants to stall but never does,- which is good. I also find that when I step on the gas while in drive it feels like the auto transmission hesitates and then accelerates just fine.
  10. Thanks. I am hoping to get some engine bay, trunk and interior shots later.
  11. I just picked up a 1979 Datsun 210 auto, lucky find with only 25K original miles. The interior is immaculate, engine bay and trunk. It even has the same spark plugs. I am having some low idle issues and wanted to know if any of you knew a good mechanic in the SF bay area? The car's been sitting for some time so I am sure it needs to be gone through. I am previously an old Fiat guy and new to Datsun. Any advice or help is appreciated. Thanks, John BTW - Dottie is her name.
