  1. I have a buddy with a spare rwd Trans for an sr20det motor.... is there a bell housing adapter to mate to the a-14 or am I just thinking crazy? I could get the Trans for silly cheap and would like to get a 5 speed Trans in my car so bad. I'm was considering this swap due to the fact that the regular A series 5 speeds are pretty hard to come buy and I rather expensive. So just throwing this out there trying to get some input.
  2. I've tried wiggling the shifter while trying to start it. Nothing
  3. Hey its me again. So this time my 78 b210 auto Trans won't start. No click from the solenoid. No crank. All the dash lights come on and they don't even dim when I try to start the car. You know like the starter is bound up and just overloading...the other day the same thing happened and I found the small wire going to the starter was loose so I replaced the connector and a section of old wire and it seemed like it fixed it. But here I am again. Scratching my head. Looks like I'm missing work to deal with the car again. Anyone have any idea?
  4. Ok and then if I have issues then I can add a half inch spacer if need be... but what about tire size on the 14x7s? I've seen and like the look of the 185/60/14.
  5. I am pretty sure they are just stock steel wheels. It has 175/70/13 tires on it now and the tire inflated on the wheel is a little over 6 inches wide and the wheel is just a little less than that so they are 6 inches wide. And the speedo is off 10 mph right now. It says 10 mph slower than actual speed. And I just checked and I have exactly 1 inch of room to move inward in the front which is where I'm more concerned.
  6. I have a 78 b210 2 door non hatch.stock ride height and 100% all new suspension.I know it's been posted before but I was looking for more specific advice. I plan on doing 14x7 wheels but don't know what to do for backspacing... the 13s that are on it now have 2 inches of backspace. No room to bring the tires in so they have to go out. I have over an inch of room to bring the tire out without rolling the fenders. I'm guessing the 13s are 6 inches wide. So if I keep that same 2 inch backspacing on the 14x7s then the wheel will come out closer to the fender by 1 inch correct? And matched with 185/60/14 tires it should fit correct?? None of the tire shops near me have anything really in 14x7 wheels and can't help me figure out fitment. Most of the places didn't even take a look. I need this advice before I order my wheels and tires online. So far I'm thinking of the bassett racing wheels. 4 lug 14x7 d slotted steelies in black.
  7. I found the cracks the other day and they are most definitely causing issues... are these cast intake manifolds repairable? Tig welding?? Or is there an aftermarket option for the a14? I haven't had any luck with my searches. Or if you are near sacramento ca and have a non broken manifold that you could get rid of... pm me.i don't know if it's even worth it to try to have it repaired. I was also thinking about fabricating my own... I'm more than capable of doing so but don't have the funds or that much time. Nothing in the picknpulls near me. Found an a15 but right as I got the manifold off I found that manifold broken as well. I'm looking for some feedback
  8. So I'm just ready for a completely new carb. Possibly a weber conversion. Mine has started leaking fuel out of the the secondary side right at the shaft for the butterfly. I don't ever have to smog the car anymore so that's not an issue. The weber conversion kit part number should be k624. But a stock hitachi will work. I just want to buy a GOOD working carb for my car asap. It's my daily driver so this has to be soon. I'm in the sacramento area. If you are too and have a good working carb for the A 14 hit me up on here or call or text me. 7073679146. Urgent. I have cash.
  9. Datzenmike are you asking me or telling me? I haven't tried removing the plintle and starting it..... I think there is enough there for me to solder a wire onto it. But I'm going to have to remove it anyway to get a good shot at it so.... if I remove the plintle, do I just cap off the wire that ran to the solenoid or ground it out somewhere? And what would be the pros and cons of removing this plintle? This is my daily driver so I need this done tonight....
  10. So the wire broke off right at the solenoid on the carburetor. I've repaired it before but now there is no wire sticking out of the solenoid so I could repair it again. Auto parts stores cannot find it so I'm kinda freaked out. I'm thinking I might be able to expose enough wire to maybe solder it back together again but does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for me. I really want a new one but I might have to get one from a junkyard. Help!
  11. So I'm in the middle of swapping out calipers on my baby and I noticed the new calipers came with little coil springs that slip over the pad retaining pins. These were either never installed on my old set up or they just disappeared after time. Either way I never had issues with the brakes before the seal went out. I have it all back together with the springs installed on the pins now. And the brake line is still disconnected. But I am noticing the outer pad is cocked at a funny angle due to the pressure of those retainer pins springs. And this concerns me. I understand that once the pad gets pressure on it that it will set flat against the rotor. It's not like there is a lot of pressure but it's just slightly concerning and I just wanted an opinion on it before I get it all back together. Please respond asap. It's getting hot out side
  12. Just got home from picknpull and they had a 74 b210 there. Got the adapter and other goodies. Now I just have to wait for the booster to arrive and I'm golden. Thanks for all the help guys
  13. Omfg.my old one did not have one. But that's exactly what a needed. No friggin way. Well. Looks like I gotta order another booster and get or make an adapter.
  14. The length of the rod going to the master. It's too long. And the studs that the master bolts to are also too long. Otherwise it fits great to the fire wall
  15. I'm the idiot that let them take my core when the new one came in.
