  1. I finally got mine back on it's wheels over the week end. Still a lot to do but hopefully won't be too much longer before driveable. cheers Eric
  2. Yes unfortunately the dash in Aussie Stanzas was pretty ordinary. We did get an econometer gauge which shows you zip really or that you have your foot too hard on the accelerator. I would have liked to have found a set of gauges like the one in the post above. It is similar to the SSS dash I have in my 510 Bluebird. The black on my dash is from vinyl spray and it works really well and has been on another dash for a long time without peeling. cheers
  3. I don't think there is much strength in it. I haven't seen that hydrographics clip but great in showing how it works. I haven't seen what can be done with a wrap but probably good job as well. I used a lot of araldite to glue the new plastic in for around the speedo. The gauges sit inside pvc pipe fitting that worked out really well. They have a thread about half way in and the gauge rests against this. I then used car bog to make the shape and smooth it out to the original plastic. I put plenty of support in there just to make sure it didn't crack after all the work to get it ready. So many good things out there now to customise the car it is great. Still deciding on interior colours. I will keep the updates coming cheers
  4. I know what you mean as I have just been screwing mine back in. I decided to instal the gauges out of a 200SX which is similar to your 240SX. It is the same car that the motor came from. I had to do a fair bit of custom work in making the speedo surround and removing the radio and clock for the new gauges. The dash is dipped in a film which gives it the carbon fibre look.
  5. All bolted in. Just a lot of bolt ons, front end etc
  6. As Mark mentioned, it was a bought one. Just gives a bit of extra capacity. The engine and gearbox have been two packed and cleared. It should be able to handle the heat. Still waiting for the rocker cover and inlet plenum to be polished and clear coated. cheers
  7. Getting closer. Looking forward to get it on it's wheels
  8. Looks pretty good. We don't get the wagon here is AUS. What motor is that ? Our 510 of that era was the Stanza (A10) and it had the old L16
  9. I haven't been on here for quite a while but thought you might like to see the shell as it arrived home. A lot has been done since then and hopefully getting the motor in over the next few weeks. Cheers
  10. A few more pictures Hopefully will be able to spend a fair bit of time working on the beast over the christmas break. I have a good mate who has been in the exhaust game for many years. He did the system on my 200SX and has done a great job on the dump. This will have competition coating once I have cleanded up any rough spots on the inside of the flange. The rest of the system is stainless 3 inch mandrel. Had some fun holding it up to the buffer, gets a bit heavy and getting the angle. Used hydrofluoric acid to clean the welds and they polished up nicely. I was lucky to get the original Violet grille when I bought the car. It has been 2 packed and cleared. I have colour coordinated the centre badge to match the car. I nearly have all the stainless for the passenger side complete. Just trying to sort out some good rubbers is difficult as not available in Aus and hard to track down. I am trying to make the best of what I have. Installed the dynamat on the passenger side over the week end. Just need to add the fuel line brackets underneath the drivers side as these will come through the floor and then I can finish the dynamat. More pictures to come next year Cheers Eric
  11. Got a bit more done over the week end This is a better shot of the rear mag. It is a 17 x 8 with a 245/35 tyre. I have customised an air intake to feed cold air from under the bumper through the radiator support into an air box. This is the new front strut running a ventilated disk and 4 spot aluminium calipers. Also been polishing the stainless for around the windows. I have to locate some new plastic clips for the screws to hold them on as they were all removed when the shell was sand blasted. Time to get back into it Cheers Eric
  12. Hi again, I am really happy with the colour. I wanted something a bit brighter than the standard and tried a mix of Ford Grabber Orange and Ford Yellow Fire. It worked out really well. I have an SR20 DET being freshened up. Just a basic upgrade with a Garrett 2871R, Z32 AFM, Brian Crower Cams etc I am hoping for around 280 - 290 HP at the wheels. I already have a 510 2 Door Sedan with the Old School L Series with webers etc so I wanted to go for a bit more grunt this time. Well off to the Man Cave to fit some more bits. Cheers Eric
  13. Hi all, I have posted this picture of the car after I bought it years go. I installed the new motor and most of the parts before pulling it all down for painting. It was at the panel shop for about 9 months as I was not in any hurry to get it back as kept saving to pay the bill. Here is a link to the picture of it arriving home as I am having trouble loading the picture. http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/i430/KPA10/Arrivinghome_zps9455a5db.jpg As you can see, the underneath of the car has been given the full treatment as well. I have started on the back and added the earlier model bumper. Had to dummy fit the rear wheel to see what it looked like against the colour. Starting on the inside while waiting for the motor to come back. Will hopefully add regular updates cheers Eric
  14. I haven't seen any wagons over here. They don't look too bad. Do you think you should lower it little...just kidding. The front bumper is quite different to ours as well. I have got a hold of the earlier model bumpers so they will be all chrome with no overriders or rubber ends. I have seen a dash recently that I wish I had seen before I customised mine. So any different versions around the world. Cheers Eric
  15. Hi All, Another one from down under. In the panel shop at the moment and ready for new paint in the next couple of weeks. Still keeping it orange but a little bit brighter. SR20 DET to help it along Cheers
