  1. I just swapped hardbody drop spindles on my 79 620, everything bolted up no prob but when I set the truck back on the ground I noticed that one of my wheels is cocked a little :-(, when I set my driver side wheel straight the passenger side points to the passenger side about two inches off center, when I set the passenger side straight the drivers side points to the drivers side about two inches off center, also the drivers side seems to sit higher than the passenger side, both torsion bars are turned the same distance and the truck sat at the same height before, heelp!!! has anyone out there had this issue when they did this swap? is it just a matter of getting an alignment?

  3. a friend of mine just purchased an 85 720, being the good friend and being that he is not mechanically inclined I offered to help him, anyway after replacing all of the water hoses, de smoging it , and removing the ac system we took it out for a drive around the block came back checked for fluid leaks and changed drivers, (this is where I get screwed) he tells me to drive it so I did i engaged first took off normal now when I shift to second the damn'd thing revs like there is no tomorrow I immediately depress the clutch and shut it off. popped the hood and checked the carb to see why it had gotten stuck on Wide open, as soon as I got to the carb I noticed that indeed it was suck, I unstuck it and told him to start it when he tried it made a wierd clunking sound since we were about 30 feet from home we just pushed it back, I took out the oil pan and found no visible holes on the underside of the pistons, there is however some side to side play on all of the connecting rods, is this normal? also the number two cylinder seems to let some of the gas fumes enter the crank case, how can I diagnose the problem? the speedo is broken so there is no way of telling how many miles are on the motor, how much would he expect to spend to rebuild the motor?
  4. funny thing, I did cleaned the battery terminals and now it fires right up no prob, I am still taking care of my baby so all I was able to do is start the truck about a dozen times and every time it fired up like it did before the problems started, I hope that all is ok now battery terminals were all black with a little bit of corrosion on positive side, I sanded down to shiny lead and applied a coat of dielectric grease btw I think I might have found the reason why it tends to run on, I had made an air filter out of some air conditioning element and it seems that some if the very thin wire mesh used in the filter media broke off, any ideas on how to expel this stuff out of my cylinders? the stuff is almost paper thin so what I have done so far is rev the sh** out of the engine maybe this will expel the small pieces out thanks to all those that helped, I'll keep you guys posted once I get to drive it

So I charged the battery overnight and it still does the same thing, but when I use my booster pack the c truck fires up right away. nothing has been changed, so I don't know what could cause this to happen, I will try to get a new battery to see if it gets better, I still don't know why it runs on now though anyway I am baby sitting now so I won't be able to get to it till later
  6. ever since a few days ago my 79 620 started not turning over on the first try, I have to wait a few seconds and then try again at which point it will turn over but will struggle to do so, the ground wire on my matchbox dizzy will get hot and actually melt the insulation off, have the dizzy grounded to the battery and have for almost a year. one more thing the motor has wanted to run on even though the key is off, all these things just showed up without any kind of mods to the truck. I will get the battery tested to see if that is the culprit, but if it is would that cause my dizzy ground to over heat? heeelp!!! this is my daly, actually my only running vehicle

  11. I myself have two one with a supersonic badge and the other without, I'll just wait a little longer to sell one, that way they will be even moar rare moahaha :devil: mean time money in the bank
  12. I would do one better and add some way of attaching a lock to the e-brake that way no one can hitch up and drive away :D
