I started to take the head off yesterday, and ran into a surprise. THIS THING HAS RUST EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!! The head needed to be replaced anyway so its ok, but if the crankshaft, pistons, or cylinder walls have rust, then im going to end up looking for a new engine.

we are going to use it as a truck to just mess around in because it will be good on gas, and its all stock according to the previous owner.

i do have a question. what kind of head should i be looking for? I do not have the owners manual, so i dont know what model truck this is.

yesterday my friend and i were able to get a 78 kingcab 4spd for free. We have always wanted a car to, and i use this term loosely, "restore" and this truck fit the bill. cant pass up free.:D it needs a new head, and a new clutch and A LOT of body work, but we cant wait. I have been looking for a good forum to subscribe to, and this is by far the most active datsun forum i could find. I look forward to asking questions, and posting updates.
