  1. It takes time to fabricate mounts and cross member but not difficult at all. The rest is all bolt on.
  2. the rack with 300z rods and stock rod ends subaru impress tie rod ends. engine mounted everything clears. Very simple setup. didn't cost that much, and if you weld you save even mo $.
  3. you have to extend the motor mounts by 3/4" you can see in this picture the cross member was moved 1" back and 1/2" down to clear oil pan. square metal plates where use to extend the center piece. Raising the brackets gives you just enough to fit the rack.
  4. Power steering: I used 95 240sx rack & pinion I'm pretty sure you can use any year 240sx rack & pinion, complete steering column, center part of the cross member. I used 86 300zx rack & pinion rods. Don't know what other years are compatible! 87 200sx steering connector this is the part that connects the shaft from the steering column to the rack. 95 subaru impreza tie rod ends. Again I don't know what other years are compatible! Rack and pinion will fit perfect with this parts combined together. this is the cross member this is how it will look mounted this is using s14 240sx steering column mounting bracket for S14 steering column all by hand thats why it's a little crooked cut the wings off S14 mounting bracket weld wings from stock steering column to s14 column. you need an extra bracket at the lower end but I don't have a picture of it. I used the S14 column because I wanted to have the tilt and be able to adjust my wheel. welded flanges. and this is the bracket at the end of the column. instead of using the s14 column boot I used a shifter boot from the S14. my good friend Pedro did the final touch. DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR HIM! S14 cluster this is the stock S14 rod and 300z rod.
  5. I'm just fkn with you guys. I did a power steering conversion on my 70 510 with a KA, using parts from different model cars. It is a bolt on deal except the crossmember. I have pictures and all the info of what I did. Car its been running with this set up for about 2yrs no problems and same tires. I also used an S14 steering column but you can stay with the 510 column. So much fun with a small car with power and power steering. Will post pics and all the info when I get a chanse. If you want to try it good if not I don't give a F haha. It won't cost much most parts you can steal from pick and pull just don't tell anyone. Troy hermish drove it and loved it, he said it was the best conversion he had seen.
  6. If I put a bigger steering wheel like a 20" would it fell like power steering?
  7. Can a front clip from another car be welded on and mount the 510 fenders and parts to it?
  8. Trade hummer rack for bluebird tail lights or someting of same value.
  9. The rack is alittle big! Anyone wants to buy a hummer rack and pinion?
  10. What? If I weld it on I won't have to worry about it getting loose.
  11. I got a hummer rack going to weld it on the crossmember. And figure the rest later.
  12. I think it's easier to buy a new car.
  13. Looks expensive! I want to spend $200 max
  14. Can a 510 shell be mounted on a truck chassis? that way you have power steering!
