  1. Can u link me to the hitachi copy? The J15 has a nikki as standard. Is there a nikki copy?
  2. Hi, Wondering if anyone has had experience with these carbs before, I'm guessing they are a copy of the original nikki? http://www.ebay.com/itm/replace-carburetor-NISSAN-J15-DATSUN-620-72-75-NK-262-/320930232729?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ab8eeb999&vxp=mtr

    Low 620

    Could you chuck up a few pictures of your front suspension and a picture of the amount of travel you have if you don't mind?

    hmm, does seem to be more work than I thought it was! Interested to see how you got you're ute so low in the front then mate!

    I thought it may have been changed over to balljoint front, which surely you'd only change the upper, lower arms and hubs over? Mine is a kingpin front, and I'm sure I couldn't go anywhere near that low!

    nice. So the front would def have drop spindles huh?

    an E28 then a 620, same as me! hah. Just some q's bout the lowering there mate, does that have drop spindles or a c-notch? If not, do you have any travel? What size tyres are they? 185 65?
  12. Thanks man. My front bumps are around 6mm big. Made for low applications, so really won't make much of a diff with them in or out since they are so small. You sound like you have similar travel in the front to me though? I wonder if everything is different with a kingpin front end? You have a balljoint front? I've got about 30mm'ish/1" travel for the bumpstop in front. The other option is for me to run a smaller profile tyre, as I'm running 185/80R14s! But this won't help with guard gap. As for engineers, yeah that must be australia you're thinking of. In New Zealand we have a 6 monthly check-up with a certified "warrant of fitness" inspector. Some of the rules include for suspension include no structural parts lower than 100mm/4" (unless certified - which is stringent and costs), and blocks can't be any bigger than 2". Whoops. :D Someone else asked about how many leaves, have still got 3, to take another out seems a little dodgy to me. I have 3" blocks in there now though, and the pack has been reset/re-tempered 2.5" lower as well. So 5.5" in the back. What I might do is take some photos tomorrow with the amount of travel I've got, to show what I mean. Sparkle
  13. have already cranked them down, that's not the prob! I've already got "hot rod" style bumpstops A la; http://images.bizrate.com/resize?sq=140&uid=1639090672 But still only have 30ish mm/ an inch of travel left. Are you real low fellas got like less than 10mm travel??
  14. So, chucked 3" blocks in the back of mine (plus the springs reset 2.5" lower. Is sitting fairly level now, but still not low enough for me. How do you guys get more low? I've got about an inch ish travel left in the front, and about the same in the rear! Are you able to go lower in balljoint fronts rather than the kingpin fronts for some reason? Farmer Joe, yours is c-notched right? Recent pic for reference;
  15. yuh man, if you have a look at my project thread, has plenty of pictures.
