  1. I'm looking forward to getting out of California and have always liked Oregon so when I was able to transfer with my work I jumped on it.
  2. Just saw this thread, it's good to see there is lots of ratsun activity in Eugene. I'm moving to Eugene in the middle of December, hopefully I will be able to get the project back on track and i'll make it out when it's running again. -Cole
  3. Looks Cool to me!!! I will be really impressed with your skills if you do the whole project with a cheap ARC welder! More pics please.
  4. Sorry for the long delay without any updates. I've been crazy busy with other projects and a possible job relocation. I have been working on a ton of the little projects that need to get done and THE WIRING... I finally got a hold of the ford factory wiring diagram. I am almost done getting the radiator and fan mounted up. Here is a couple pics of the fan bracket that i've been working on. It is almost complete just need to go back to the hardware store and source some different size nuts and bolts.
  5. Here is a picture of the back side of the fan. On the Taurus I pulled this out of it was mounted with 2 bolts, 1 on the top the other on the upper side. The 2 wings that stick out on the lower sides fit into an almost U channel that captured them. The dimensions are... -fan on the ground to the back of the motor is 4.75" -Duct diameter is right about 14.5" -Shroud Width 24" -Shroud Tall 15" -The shroud directly over the fan is about 16" tall From what I can tell A TON of ford cars came with this fan, the shroud is a different size, shape and mounting configuration in a bunch of different cars and years. I would say go to the junk yard and start looking.
  6. Looks awesome! As for the fan depth, I'll check tomorrow and get back to you.
  7. Worked on the car a bit today. Like always I got started on a few different things but didn't have everything I needed to finish any of them... I started building the bracket for the fan. I used 2x 1/16 flat bar that i found in a scrap pile at the local metal yard. TIG welded together. And finally started to dig through the mountain of wiring. We have separated the stuff we absolutely don't need from the harness.
  8. I've heard a bunch of different numbers. 33amp continuous and up to 90 amp spikes on high start ups.
  9. I pulled it from a 94 Taurus.
  10. I wasn't going to show the hood till i had the hood scoop on but what the hell. Here is the mock up hood cut out. I wish i could of made it fit under the stock hood but it just isn't going to happen. These are work in progress pics, I don't have a finished picture yet. Also this is not the hood that will be used with the hood scoop. And for those that are pissed i cut up a hood, the nose of this one is all bent to shit and not worth repairing.
  11. Thanks for all the encouragement! I haven't gotten as much done as I would like but I'm just trying to tie up all the loose ends. After looking at the exhaust I had made I felt like i needed to make it just a bit longer so the muffler shop could get to it. And I welded in an o2 bung in each side. I was originally going to buy a really fancy aluminum radiator and throw a summit dual electric fan on it. But after reading a bunch on hybrid Z and other sites along with some advice from friends I'm going to just use the 3 core that was in the car. And A bunch of people recommended the 2 speed single electric fan from a Ford Taurus. So i went to pick n pull and found one for 30 bucks. The shroud is almost a perfect fit. I just need to make a few brackets and it should be money.
  12. I got the clutch bled, its super smooth and looks like it has plenty of throw. I also got the injector wiring laid out and I'm about to start digging into the stock mark8 harness. I cut the hole in the practice hood, it fits pretty good. I'll try and get some pics but I'm at work and not sure I can upload from here.
  13. It would be a bit easier on the passenger side but I would either have to leave ther driver side in the standard location or do even more work than I am doing to get the driver side outside the frame. I think tomorrow I'm going to start digging into the trash can full of Mark8 wiring. I also need to mock up the hood and work on a ton of little projects.
  14. Driver side isn't much of an issue. Passenger side is a little tight.
  15. Been working a ton lately, unfortunately just not on the car. Last week I worked on getting the exhaust to clear the frame rails. I'll get some pictures up in a bit.
