  4. Thanks guys :) Im planning on taking this to Canby this coming year B) mini me too
  5. I'm in for $75, and I can come pic them up, if it doesn't work out with the above member.
  6. Dear Ratsun, I still talk about you everyday, recruit, reference, take pride in, and accept as my comradery. Now I'm not going anywhere. :) I've been through a few hard times since joining Ratsun, moved to Portland for the Datto scene, and everyone has always been there to help, so I thank you. The new additions I speak of is a mini me! My daughter Hayli Young was born June 6th, this year, and let me tell you.... she is a baby Datsun lover if I've ever seen one. She goes everywhere with me, sits in her little red convertable car walker in the garage as I work away. We scout out Datsuns together, so I thought it would be appropriate to have that mom Datsun. Those of you that know me, know I have my Z, and my 620, now a family car.... please welcome my 1968 4 door 510. (68 has been my favorite one since I saw Mikey's) I have been looking at 4 doors or a goon for 9+months now, and in my neighborhood, there's been a 510 under a cover for years. We asked if they'd sell it months ago, and it was a very sentimental car. The man I spoke to had learned to drive in this car, his dad bought it new off the lot, here in Santa Barbara in 68. The mans other brother also learned to drive in it. The body is straight as it gets!!! Not an exaggeration.!!! This little 510 experienced so much love.... and wax, and polish that its original light blue is worn down to the bone on the corners from too much buffer over the years. The interior is shot, and they'd put BMW seats in it back in the day, due to the lowback seats being "unsafe"... (don't worry I already have another set lined up). Just ordered a new carpet kit. Its got a rebuilt L16, with a weber and header. He also has the original L16 that has a warped head, and transmission that comes with it, along with stacks of Datto SWAG, 3 stacks of old magazines, brochures, and datsun performance books. (droooooool :w00t: ) and a dual SU Carb setup that he always wanted to put on and never got a chance. Unfortunately his health enables him to drive (my heart goes out to him, pure blooded datsun enthusiast, looses his motor skills.) and he saw how much I loved it so decided to give it another home, with me (for a price of course). To see how much joy this guy has in talking about his car, and passion is the best reward. He will be coming over from time to time to see his dream live on, I'm on call for any time he wants to go for a drive, and he will be accompanying me to some meets and shows. This is a win win situation for us both. The car ran when parked, so we will see what the datto gods have in store. And now for the pics because I know you guys haven't changed  . Sorry in advance it was raining buckets today, so I didn't take the cover all the way off, I would have been soaked. But I promise lots and lots of more pics soon!!! Here ya go! (BTW the prius is NOT mine. The car is still in front of his house until Monday when I can go register it so I can park it in front of my house legally)
  7. Sent PM :) Need one!! Bad!! Got a new 510 today and the interior is shot!
  8. I need an alternator mounting bracket for an L20b, I had an L18 in m 620, just built an L20b and the brackets are different, I cant get the one I used on the L18 to bolt to the block, completely diff setup.
  9. Haha I just saw all these responses... So tonight I made a little more progress on the L20... and have run into a little snag! Ive set up the timing components, and went to throw the timing cover on, and it seems like I have the timing cover of an L20b/L18/L16? Its shorter then the block by about half an inch. I pulled it off one of the old engines I had in the truck, didn't know there were different options. My other engine has the same cover... is it harder to find the ones for an L20? I noticed all the gasket sets I have say L16/L18/L20b etc... not L20, but the timing cover at least, comes with the shorter, and taller gaskets... maybe I just had a brain fart when I got all these gaskets, but somehow I accumulated 3 sets of each gasket set lol all the same story. I probably was looking up '74 or '78 620 engine sets not knowing the L20 is different. <_< Anyone have an extra L20 cover they would like to get rid of? :D
  10. Bump! I wish someone on Ratsun would want this, its so so clean. Any takers? If not its going to the first person on craigslist that e mails me lol. The Z got broken into and my phone stolen so I havent gotten any of the responses, but a day before all that went down, I had about 4 messages on there from random craigslisters.
  11. http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/cto/2458815864.html I have too many projects, this one needs a new owner, lol not enough space, money, or time. Priced to sell quick! This is a steal, car is so clean in person. Clean title in hand $250 obo for ratsun folks. Located in Santa Barbara CA, will need a traier as engine is siezed. Any takers?
