  1. I replaced the bearing, with the rounded side towards the clutch, and it seems to be working fine. Ran the same route, and no squealing as of yet, so fingers crossed! Thanks for the help everyone.
  2. http://rs1149.pbsrc.com/albums/o589/Art_P_Jones/5E1CB79A-3FD9-4260-BA21-BB2BE9367E0B_zpsopcpggui.jpeg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip I actually had a picture I took before I installed it.
  3. So i pulled the sleeve and bearing, and the bearing is shot. This is the new sleeve and old sleeve. Is it possible the new one is too long? http://rs1149.pbsrc.com/albums/o589/Art_P_Jones/50DA2578-EA7E-46C5-8C6B-02E702FEB46D_zps9bnyhrvq.jpeg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip Or did I just put it on backwards?
  4. The transmission is a 5speed. I’ll check to see if the clutch is rubbing, but the noise is only when I press down on the clutch pedal. I didn’t replace the pilot bushing or shaft seal. The clutch kit I bought came with a new pilot bushing, but I don’t know where it goes. @Hainz... I purchased a 225mm set up for a 620, then the new throw out bearing collar for a 620 as well. The bearing I used came with the clutch kit. I am a total newb when it comes to cars, so I appreciate the help and for putting up with my lack of knowledge.
  5. Thanks for the help. I'll give it a shot in the morning.
  6. So I'm having the same issues as described above. I swapped a L20b into my 510. I had to replace the clutch with a 225mm one, and I replaced the throwout bearing collar as well. I initially kept the old collar, but found that it was too short (couldn't put it into gear with pedal pushed all the way in). After I changed to a longer collar and got the engine back in, everything seemed fine on the initial drive, but about 1/2 mile into the test drive, I started to get a loud squealing noise when the clutch is pushed in. Sounds like I installed the new throwout bearing in backwards? How do I get the bearing off of the collar? Lastly, I pulled the engine to get to the bearing the last time. I have a borrowed cherry picker right now, and it took about two hours to get all the accessories off and then back on to the engine. What are the steps to dropping the transmission to get to the bearing? Is one method easier than the other? Thanks a bunch in advance.
  7. Sweet, thanks for the answer.
  8. So a while ago I removed my gas tank, cleaned it out, and used the POR stuff to treat the inside. While removing the tank and hoses, the piece on the top of the tank came off. I tried putting it back on, but it hasn't quite seated like it did originally. Now when I make sharp/fast left turns, small amounts of gas leaks out from the hole. I tried using gas tank sealer around the hole, but there is still a strong smell of gasoline. How do I properly seat the joint? It looks like a gas return from the filler neck. I have also replaced the filler neck, and no gasoline is leaking from the filler/cap area. [/url]
  9. I got the paint from Finish Masters. It's called Bamboo Tan, 529. Their code says years from 68-70 I think. The other variant they had looked almost gray in color. This is what the car originally looked like. [/url Now...
  10. Paint came out a little lighter than I would have liked. For my first time painting, I think I did a pretty good job. There is a small run and a few pinholes. Also got some dirt/fluff in the paint. I am working on wet sanding now, and hopefully will be done in a few days. My camera died with some pictures on it, so all I had where these that I took with my phone.
  11. seam sealed the gutters. They were pretty rough, and looked cracked. Paint!!!
  12. This is what it looked like after final sanding. Body looked pretty straight, and I fixed some minor things. Put flexible foam and seam sealed the sides. Dropped in a battery box, seam sealed also. As you can see, I also put a rubberized coating in the trunk.
  13. Fixed some body line issues that I had with the left door and right rear quarter. After it was all blocked and finished, sprayed with some dark gray primer my friend had. Looking at the car while the primer was wet, I was really happy with my work. It looked straight to me, and thats all that matters. I felt pretty good spraying the primer, and didn't have the splotchy spots and uneven lines like the first time I sprayed. I know color is supposed to be harder to spray, so hopefully I don't mess that up. The car will sit in this primer for about a month while I go on vacation. Before I leave, I will drop in a new battery box I made. Will snap some pics before and after I drop it in.
  14. Been a while since I've updated. Finished the metal work and filler work. Sprayed it with some polyester primer and started to block with 180.
  15. After finishing the patch, I tried to straighten out the rest of the left side. The left front fender was pretty bad, so I did the best I could. Its going to need a bunch of filler. Epoxy primed the left side, and will start on the hood and roof today.
