  1. You can look in the salvage yards, but a fuel pump that old may not be the best bet. You can get a new one at http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/ look under the Nissan '79 620 truck listing. They start at around $44.00 plus shipping.
  2. Today I worked on bleeding my bleedin' brakes. I worked on the hitherto unknown (at least to me) equalizer. Got some air out of it and went for a test run. Not perfect, but much improved. Afterward I took some pictures to share. http://s659.photobucket.com/albums/uu320/hairy1205/ Then I removed the heinous remains of a passenger 629 bucket. I have already installed the drivers bucket out of my '92 Acura Integra. I installed a leather shift knob from a classic Mini Cooper. I hope to work on a mahogany dash soon. Tomorrow I hope to get a little more air out of brakes and get the passenger seat installed.
  3. :mad:Today I rebuilt the carb on my 620 kc and finally got it reinstalled about dark(which is also about freezing). I started the truck and still it won't idle! After many colorful words, I put away my tools and decided to try the brakes tomorrow!
  4. I hear you pete, I am an automotive electrical technician by trade(although out of work due to the economy). I have all of the relays and the alternator in my shop to do the upgrades. I will definitely take your advice. No need for late night wire smoking.

    620 brakes

    Thanks, I'll try that first.
  6. I don't know about the tail shaft, but I know of a 620 in a junk yard in Commerce, GA that you might get one from. PM me and let me know what part of GA you are in.

    620 brakes

How other than watching it pump the brake fluid through the clear rubber lines would I check the master cylinder? It looks like it is pumping properly and when I pump with a stabbing motion it stops. Let me know what you think out there/

    620 brakes

They work when you get a pedal and the parking brakes work. the front is disk and they don't work without the quick stab either. the rears have like new pads also.

    620 brakes

My 620 will not bleed the brakes to giv a good pedal. I have tried pressure bleeding from the master cylinder end and also have run hoses all of the way from the bleeder nipples to the master cylinder reservoirs, I am positive I have no air in the lines. If I hit the pedal with a quick stab I get pedal for one try, bul if I just press down normally I get no pedal(all of the way to the floor) I am thinking a bad booster, probably a small hole in the diaphragm. I work for a cool shop that restores old mini coopers and puts Honda Vtec motors in them. We put minis together without boosters all of the time and they work fine. Has anyone removed the booster from a Datsun and had any luck? If so any advice would be welcome!

  11. I would love to have them for my new 620, but alas I live in the deep south aka Georgia!
  12. Yes removable bulbs and outside high/low and inner high beam.
  13. Thanks datzenmike! :)I found a set of European Hella H4 inner and outer from a VW Scirocco that are the right configuration. I hope to install these in the 620 this week.
  14. I bought a '79 620 a few weeks ago and have been trying to get it on the road since. I have done some fuel stuff, it had been sitting 10 years and i drained the laquer(gas) from the tank and replaced some of the seals in the Hitachi carb. It still won't idle but it went down the road today. While I was out I checked at the local O'Realy's and tried to get the outer headlights. The wiring diagram I got from a link to olddatsuns indicates that it has a dual filament outer bulb, but the guy at the store said there is no such thing. Can anyone out there help? Maybe a part number or something! By the I love this site!!
  15. Count me in for a set if the cost is reasonable! Let me know what the detaila are.
