  1. Leaving tomorrow to bring this home.
  2. Has anyone ever bought stuff from a Mike Harrow in Riverside, CA? If you have could you PM me your impressions. I'd prefer nobody respond to the thread directly, because their could be tons of good experiences, but one person could feel they had a bad experience and just take over a thread and it could hurt reputations. This is just for me, so please just PMs. To this point he's been very friendly and responsive in coming to a deal, just want to feel a little more comfortable before sending money to someone I've never met in person. Thanks!
  3. For people saying it would create lift, that's not necessarily true. When air hits a planes wing the air that goes over the top will meet the air that goes under the wing at the same time at the back of the wing. This is why wings have a flat side and a curved side. Since the air meets at the same time, the two air paths will travel at different speeds. With different speeds the force it can place on the wing is different. So the side that imparts the higher force wins out. In a planes case it's the bottom, and thus it lifts a plane. (This is also why in descent you see them change the flaps on the wing... it inverts which side has the greater force.) Long story short... it depends on how the "under-spoiler" is constructed of whether it would create lift or down force. SCIENCE!! All that being said... That looks retarded bro...
  4. Would an increase in weight matter then? A 1.6 liter versus a 2+ liter engine? Here is what I'm looking at: (http://www.carparts.com/details/Nissan/510/Beck_Arnley/Motor_and_Transmission_Mount/1969/Base/4_Cyl_1-dot-6L/104-0827.html) What generally concerns me (and maybe it shouldn't, and I should be happy and move on) is that these are so inexpensive versus upgraded motor mounts for installing like a KA (those seem to run like $100+). It just seems odd that the motor mounts could be basically the same but the cost be so different.
  5. Hi: I'm building a 68 Datsun 510, and had a question. The L-series that I'm putting in is well above the 90HP of the original L16. I was curious if this would require better motor mounts than OEM equivalents. If so, does anyone know where you can buy beefier L series motor mounts? Thanks for the help!
  6. Thanks. I was watching your videos and was curious. I will probably autocross my car as well when it's finished and I was trying to get an idea of what kind of grip to expect. I have 15x7 +28 on front and 15x7.5 +20 on rear. I'm using the new BFG Rivals Street Tire (200TW). So I may get a bit more grip from wider rears and a stickier compound. I autox'd a MINI for a few years. Great car for the sport because of it's small size. It looks like a 510 wil be a great car for autox as well. Small enough to be lethal.
  7. Yeah, I decided against the flares a while back. Decided not to cut up a 68. We were able to get a 15x7.5 SSR Reverse Mesh under the rear and I'm pretty happy with that. I still have the original L16, but I decided to have Rebello build a motor for the car. They finished it the other day, and it's going to have a just a few more ponies than the L16
  8. Does anyone know what blue is in the BRE Livery? You'd be amazed but google is worthless for searching for this.
  9. First off let me say you guys are awesome. The posts that are the most helpful are the ones that include the paint name or code. I've seen quite a few pictures of cars that I like, but finding out what actual color it is is almost impossible. qwik510... I had looked at Mexico Blue, my only concern is that it might be too loud for me. I like the shade generally though. I like 71 Dimers car. Not as loud, but not dark either. TENDRIL.... can you buy those paint "blocks" (shapes?) from that site? I tend to try and buy samples so that I can see it. Computer screens always distort color a little bit. DANTHEMAN... Do you have a picture of that color on a car? I tried googling it but I'm not getting anything. Thanks for all the suggestions. If anyone else has good ideas keep them coming :)
  10. Walter Sobchak once said,"Donny, these men are nihilists, there is nothing to be afraid of." I'm 99% sure the same thing can be said for Hyundai Elantra owners.
  11. Does anyone know what color this is? I found the picture on another site and it says Mike Agnifilo is the owner. Anyone know him? I like the blue on this and would love to know what the actual paint code is. It would certainly be in the running.
  12. I have a 68 Datsun 510 2 door sedan (USDM). It's going to get painted here pretty soon, and I can't seem to quite figure out what color to paint it. I don't like the stock color. If you look at my avatar it's the blue that is remaining on the car. So here are a few questions: 1) Should the car remain a 1968 factory color? 2) If yes, which one besides the stock color? 3) If No, what color do you think looks best on a 68? I've been bouncing around the idea of a brighter white than was available from the factory, a factory red, or possibly a blue (I can never find a shade that I love). Blacks, grey, silver are all out. No chance I paint it that color. No offense to those colors, its just that all my other cars are black, grey or silver and I'm not having another one. So what do you think?
  13. Sorry. Anyone who spells torque T-O-R-K doesn't get to give another person a hard time about not learning.
