  1. Here is mine. '69 Camaro reproduction chin spoiler.
  2. Here is what I found in the bottom of the old one.
  3. I was able to get the rear end yesterday 2 days before the truck was scrapped. Replaced the whole thing as suggested and all seems to be in order. I need to bleed the brakes today before a test drive but I'm sure everything will run well. Thanks again datzenmike!
  4. Great help DatzenMike, thank you. This is everything I need to know. Now just out of curiosity, are the spider gears the same between all H190 rear ends? The only 620 in my area that I can get a rear end out of was destined for the scrap yard when I talked to the owner a couple weeks ago. Here's hoping I'm not too late...to make one last pull.
  5. So I was teaching my girlfriend of six years how to drive stick today. It was a jerky experience to say the least. As i drove it out of the parking lot I noticed a faint but continuous clicking noise. So I started to head for home and realized the noise got much louder as i coasted and decelerated. Fast forward to getting home thinking it was just a U Joint, I crawl under and notice nothing odd about it. Spin the wheel and notice the noise is coming from the rear end. So I drain it and it was not a pretty sight. Lots of metal shavings on the plug and chunks sitting on the bottom that i could feel with my finger. Looking in the fill hole I see this As you can see, the base of the spider gear/pinion gear is chunked out on every tooth. I have a feeling this is an easy fix though I have little experience with rear ends and even less knowledge on where I can find these particular gears. So my questions are 1)are these gears the same for all sizes of rear ends? 2)do other rear ends share the same gears so I can acquire one quickly? 3)Where to find out what diff I even have? I can't find any markings on it nor any of the tags on the truck. Any help is appreciated. And yes I have tried many searches, none of which help my problem. Thanks EDIT: on the diagrams for the rear end it lists the part # as 38425-71200
  6. Great job man! Can't wait to see a driving video...bet you can't either!

    Wheel Hop Remedy?

I can imagine! It's only happened three times but its not a good feeling when it does. I'll give the shocks a look. Thank you! hmmmm. I need grip too though. I'll check them out, Thanks! Ouch. A simple "don't do burnouts" would've sufficed.

    Wheel Hop Remedy?

Hello gents. Haven't posted much around the forum so for those who don't know I have a a VG30 swapped 620 (yello620s old truck) It's an absolute blast to drive! I put 10,000 miles on last summer. Problem is, when I do a rad launch  , or attempt a childish burnout I get wheel hop like crazy. It's not a common event but I would still like to remedy it. I don't want the process to get too involved so i was thinking of making a sort of caltrac system. What do you guys think? A different solution? or just don't do burnouts... Thanks!
  10. This is gonna be me when i buy all of the inventory of this at wal-mart
  11. Thanks everyone. After examining the switch i found that one of the solder joints had broken off. Just re-soldered it on. Also, on the back of that little circut board one of the lead tabs was bent and therefore not making contact. Got everything sorted in a couple hours most of which was spent finding the tiny copper contact shoes that I had dropped :poke:
  12. Hey guys I wil try and explain this as best i can but it is bound to get quite confuing. The left taillight worked perfect when I got the truck but now is acting very strange and i need some advice as to where to start looking. Please keep in mind all of the bulbs are good, I have switched taillights from right to left and have the same problem so it is not an issue with the housing, and the right taillight opperates perfectly. There is no left turn signal or brake light but the taillights turn on with the rest of the lights. Here is what boggles my mind. The hazards work AND the brake lights work only when the hazards are on. Not sure if this is common but any advice would be much appreciated!
  13. will post a video soon so everyone can hear it roar
  14. All right already! sheesh! Here are those elusive VG30 photos.
  15. Hey kids. I have recently acqired Yello620's erhm... yellow 620. It has a VG30e and Jason did an AMAZING job on the swap! It brings a smile to my face every time i get on the throttle and certainly turns heads. ((((((start of long story...feel free to skip to pics below)))))) Here in Milwaukee, I have only seen two 620s ever which can be attributed to our obsurdly high use of salt in the winters. My father and brother race a '70 240z (last pic) and ever since they got it in 2000 (when i was 10) I have had a love for most every Datsun. It wasnt until recently that I really gave the 620 a second look. and when I did, i knew I had to have one. Within a week of deciding I wanted one, I sold my beloved Honda XR650 and began the search. I looked around on CL for a while and then came accross Ratsun. I posted a WTB ad and got a couple bites, one of which was close to going through. When it didn't I had come accross one of Yello's posts saying he may sell his. I had seen it on the forum before and thought it was ultra badass especially with such a unique motor swap. He was willing to do a long distance transaction so we went for it! Generally speaking, the transaction went very smoothly but pretty much everything that could have held it up did. It took a lot of patience on both our parts but the truck finally got shipped and I got it May 10th. My dd is a 2012 Tacoma...havent driven it since. I take my 620 eveywhere. There is that certain joy that I get when driving something thet you have to put effort into steering, stopping, avoiding potholes. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. It will be driven most every day this summer and fall but the second the snow flies it will be stored in the garage that the 240z is in. It has almost zero rot and i want to keep it that way! Enjoy the pics, I will upload more in the comming week. On the trailer with 5 brand new Lexus' and BMW's Sitting in my driveway My nephew loves it My Dad's 240Z
