  1. Hmm. I logged onto the site at work and the first links worked for me.
  2. Not double. There's six pictures total. First time posting pictures. I may not have done it the most efficient way, but it got done regardless.
  3. I have two 521 cabs and one bed for sale. One cab and the bed are from the same truck. I have a clean title for that cab/bed. I bought the other cab as part of my project, but I'm not going to get to it any time soon. The interior of the primary cab is in good shape. The headliner and seat are in great shape. Windows roll up and down just fine. Charcoal grey in color. I have the front grille assembly/lights for it as well, but no front fenders or hood. The bed is in good shape and the tailgate in there. Tailgate latches work well. $600 for both cabs, the bed, and whatever parts I have for them. I can deliver for an extra fee, depending on distance from Pomona, CA. You would have to provide help load it all on my trailer. I have a few pictures on my work computer, so I'll have to see about getting those uploaded in the next couple of days. If you have some serious interest, give me a call and we cant talk about it. If I need to, I can pull some things out of the garage that are around the cabs and get some more pictures. 626-755-6764 is my cell number. My name is Steven.
  4. I have a complete rolling chassis to a 1970 521 in my driveway right now. I just tore my truck down last week and I'll be using the body only. My cell number is 626-755-6764. Answering the phone at work is difficult, but you can text me as well. I'm in Pomona, CA.
  5. I have a 1970 521 cab, and a 1972 521 cab. Both of them have the steering column/box, and I will not be using either one. The 1972 box does not have the pitman arm on it. The 1970 box does have the pitman arm, but I couldn't get it off, so I cut the tie rod ends off, and they are still attached to the pitman arm. I have also taken the engine truck apart and have the rolling chassis in my driveway. If you want one of my columns and the tranny crossmember, I'm sure we can figure out how to ship them to you. I'm in Pomona, CA. My cell number is 626-755-6764. I always try to answer, but at work it's difficult. You can text me as well if you like. I'm not trying to get rich off the parts, so what are they worth to you?
  6. I have a 1970 521 that I'm using for a project vehicle, but I only need the body and interior. Selling the rest. Not looking to get rich, so make a reasonable offer and it's yours. I got it from a guy that supposedly drove it every day to work, but then started replacing the front brakes, and then it just sat, unfinished, for two years behind his house. I hooked jumper cables to the battery, squirted starting fluid in the carb, and it fired off pretty quickly. I noticed that the carb had some backyard mechanic stuff going on, like extra linkage that was crudely welded onto the original linkage, so I got rid of it, thinking I would get another one. I replaced the starter with a brand new one. I took a wire wheel to the intake manifold and valve cover to clean them up. The block was surprisingly really clean, with no noticeable leaks, so I painted it with high temp. engine paint. It does have a manual transmission. The wheels are 14", but one is a different width. I believe 3 of them are 14x7, and the 4th one is 14x8, but all 4 wheels are the same design. The tires are decent used tires that I bought to replace the trashed ones that were on it. I've decided to go another route with the truck, so all the original running gear and frame are not going to be used. Only the body. I am interested in buying another cab, so maybe we can work up some sort of trade? I'm just interested in the sheet metal of the cab and doors. I don't care about the interior. I'm in Pomona, California. It's about 35 miles to the east of L.A. 626-755-6764 is my cell number. If you have a cab, I'm willing to travel if the deal is right. As I finished this posting, I'm realizing that I can't figure out how to insert the pictures that I have. If someone can show me how to post pics from my computer, I'll get them up. Thanks!
  7. I have a 1970 521, but would like to have another cab to use in my project. I don't care about anything other than the cab shell itself and the doors. I don't even care about the internals of the doors. Just looking for the sheetmetal. I live in Southern California (L.A. area), but I'm willing to travel a bit if the price is right. 626-755-6764 is my cell number. Thanks! Steven
  8. Well, it's just an idea right now. I've spent the last couple nights in the garage measuring what I can get to on the truck. I'm worried that the firewall sticks forward too much for the cab to look right without the fenders on it. I started playing with some pictures last night to see if I can get a nice rendering going. I'll post it up when I get it drawn out.
  9. I should have been a little more clear on my intentions. My idea is to run the cab and bed only. No front sheet metal at all. Open frame rails (which I will build from scratch). I'll have plenty of room for the V8 then. Narrow the bed a bit and have the rear wheels outside of the bedsides. Google Image "ratrod truck" and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. I was also thinking about maybe cutting the cab in half so that you would have a front half and a back half. Then I could stretch the cab 6-8" to gain a bit of room inside the cab. Basically making an extended cab without having the extended part behind the door. The door glass is flat, so having some cut shouldn't be a problem. The truck does not run. Well, it somewhat did when I bought it. It fired up with starting fluid and jumper cables. When I got further into it, someone had rigged some parts on the carburator. Not sure what the intention was there, but I scrapped it. Someone had also tried to do some repairs to the front brakes, but parts are missing, and when you roll the truck, the pads will sometimes bind up and cause the truck to stop. Then you have to back it up, and then you can roll forward again. Bedsides have a good bit of bondo. Interior is really clean though. Good trim, seat, and headliner. The grille is in great shape. I'm rambling. This is all just an idea. I have this Datsun in the garage and a wrecked V8 fullsize truck in the driveway. I could potentially create a fun little truck. Just curious what others thought.
  10. That, my friend, is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Much thanks! So, now that the pictures are taken care of, what about opinions on my potential build?
  11. Anyone have a picture of thier 521, or just a 521 in general, that does not have the front fenders on? Preferably a side profile pic if possible, but I'm not trying to be too picky. My truck is packed away in the garage with a lot of stuff piled on top of it, otherwise I'd pull a fender off. I'm curious how far the firewall sticks out in front of the door. I'm playing with the idea of taking the 6.0L V8 out of my wrecked 2004 GMC 2500, and making a ratrod (not fond of that term, since it's overplayed, but what else are you going to call it?) out of my 1970 521. I can draw up some renderings of the truck and play with some ideas regarding suspension, wheels, etc., but I'd like to see the firewall in relation to the front of the door. Thinking about a control arm front suspension with coilovers. Most people push the front suspension forward a lot when building this type of truck, but I'm thinking about going forward only a few inches. Bring the rear wheels a bit closer to the cab, narrow the bed a bit, and bring the tailgate forward to just behind the rear tires. Have a nice low and wide stance, with the inside of the wheels a couple inches from being flush with the outside of the body. 18's in front and 20's in the rear. Short, wide, and more than enough power from the V8 should make for a fun ride. What do you think? Don't forget about the pics if you have them! Thanks!
  12. I am new to the Datsun scene and bought a 1970 521 a few months back. All the drums and internals for the brakes are either bad or missing (they were apart when I bought it). Will this disc conversion work on the 521's? What about front disc kits? I found a couple guys on Ebay a while back that had front and rear kits, but I can't find the front kit anymore. Thanks for the info!
