  1. Now that I know I'm getting a read on gauge maybe time to change thermostat could be that its stuck open I did see initial water flow in radiator when started with out cap because I was refilling coolant so that's my next step
  2. Slapped on the one from Napa and this is the reading I get after letting it warm up for 10 mins and driving around the block for another 10 min drive with stop lights, seems a little low 😑
  3. My truck is a 1984 720 2.4 4x4 i am the second owner previous owner didn't change much everything original for most part no major engine repairs so i was told, i do see the difference in location and size, at first i thought that the 1/8 npt sending unit was in a bushing adapter but no there there is non, and like i mentioned i ordered on online and thread was way to big i ended finding this one from Napa P/N# TS6035 on specs it reads 39.5 ohms resistance @ 220 Deg F i just don't know the resistance range on stock one and if this one will work
  4. So I been look on senders online and the threads seem way to big the one I took out seems to be 1/8 npt does that sound right id figure it would be metric threads
  5. so went ahead and ordered a temp sending unit to replace aftermarket one i ordered TS111 but it too big and thanks for all the input and great help all of you have been This is what came out Every where i go this is what i am told it calls for This is what I'm working with unless i pulled wrong thing i see a plug next to where i pulled aftermarket temp sending unit
  6. yeah i didn't see where the vacuum hose was attached to on the OEM carb, and i need to see if this after market is set up for a port on that carb actuator i will take a look its not crazy hot here in Arizona but its definitely getting warmer, its always cool seeing an old truck with good A/C here in Phoenix
  7. Yeah i left everything hooked up for most part only thing that acts up is idle when A/C is on but turns out the vacuum line that works with A/c switch system was not plugged in, i will take a look at it to day
  8. Well I got fuel gauge running looks like bad sending unit cleaned it out and put it back in seems to work but trouble with grounding or just faulty, temp gauge will move once I ground the temp sensor with a wire but will not move only connected to oem wire ?? but that same wire connected to an after market temp gauge works fine wonder If temp sensor is running on different ohms
  9. So im trying to trouble shoot fuel and temp gauge they both seem to work when ground manually but I have no resistance for them to work any ideas ? Fuse ? Connectors ? 85 720 2.4 ST
  10. I know it was pure luck checking every day on ebay and offer up and marketplace and yeah
  11. Yep lol I'm going to rebuild the original carb first time ever doing so, should be fairly easy, and the cheap carb adjusted toward lean and much better doesn't idle up to crazy and does do it after a few minutes
  12. I took a quick look this morning and looks like it does have screws to adjust i will work on it this weekend i did notice it gets quite hot by blade terminal and center of choke mechanism. is that normal i know my other carbureted cars get warm but not hot
  13. So i gave up on buying one from auto parts store to expensive for plastic, i found one on ebay NOS all copper/brass for $65 not bad at all
  14. i have to inspect the choke flap haven't done that will see what i find
  15. No not really it just stays high idle until it warms ups then the rpm drops down, but its annoying i go pump gas or shut it off for 5-10min or so it idles like if it was cold start but eventually comes down to normal idle
