  1. yea I hear you loud and clear. glad I posted the question . went back with my stock intake and stock exhaust manifold.
  2. I hear ya I think im gonna put it up for sale . hell I got the header unbolted but still haven't got it out . what a pain in the but.my header is a lot longer than the one in your pics . swear im gonna have to drop tranny to get it out. thanks for the info. much appreciated.
  3. well as usual I misinformed you . its a 1977 with a u67 head. exhaust ports are square so Im guessing now with this new corrected info the header and intake will work on the L16????? sorry king rat my bad. I finally got it off the parts truck today and the bottom bolts were a bitch to get out. should I sale this stuff or install it on mine.what ya think
  4. im having my head rebuilt on my 73 L16 right now and I just ordered a new weber k663 kit . right now Im using a stock intake and exhaust manifold, but I have a header and cannon down draft intake on a 78 parts truck with a L20 . my question is should I go ahead and put this header intake setup on my L16 while its torn down and will it fit and work properly or better than stock. thanks
  5. im still having the problem . different valves now are coming off. especially when its cold. ive set these things now about 10 times in two months.it will run fine for a few days I will cut it off then when I go to crank it . you can tell one has slipped off again and .thats all im sure about is that they slip off when I cut the engine off. im going to try .006 intake and .008 exhaust and see if it makes any difference. im really confused why this keeps happening. really a poor design by datsun if you ask me .
  6. Thanks for all the replies . sorry it took me so long to get backto the forum. I took the rocker arm and spring retainer off my junk truck with the L20 had a different casting number but looks exactly the same. seems to be working fine for now. and sorry for reporting that I set lash at .080 I actually set it at .008 my mistake.
  7. ive got a 73 620 with the L16 and one of the intake valve rocker arms keeps slipping out of the valve spring cap. I have the valve lash set at .008 cold on the intake and .010 on the exhaust. the particular one im having problems with is a intake rocker. also I have a junk truck with a L20 and was wondering. is the rockers and spring caps the same on these two engines ? any help with this matter would be much appreciated.
  8. well did not bore wheels out . ground off the tabs on front hubs instead. theyre bolted on. no spacers. now its time to see how low i can go.
  9. are the 92 Nissan D21 4x4 p.u. Calipers the only ones I could use for this setup with the 02 Isuzu rotors? would the stock 620 master cylinder work or do I have to use the 280z master cylinder ? and last but not least. im running titan 18in wheels would I also have to use spacers to clear calipers ? I really would appreciate the response. Datsun rookie
  10. I bought a set of WAGNER L4412A amber lens fog lights to put on my 620 today. ive read some other post on the subject and most say to cut of headlight harness plug and use wire terminals. just wanted to let people know that I took the old headlights out . twisted prongs off old lights and bolted them to the WAGNER L4412A FOG LIGHTS and they will plug into original headlight plug and work perfect. FYI
  11. I bought wagner bulbs L4412A for my 620 advance auto will look at you like your crazy an so will auto zone . but any NAPA or AC DELCO parts house can get them . I paid $20 bucks each. you can take terminals off old lights and bolt them to these lights so you wont have to cut harness
  12. thanks j2edeye I want it bout as low as yours . I want the fenders to hang about 1in or 2 below tires. thanks for the info. Im definitely going with 225/40r18 tires and I think im just gonna bore rims to give me a 1/4in more clearance on outside of tire. you've been a great help. now I feel comfortable about going ahead and getting my tires and boring wheels. hopefully ill be installing them this weekend. thanks alot man. ratsun rules
  13. thanks j2edeye so if I run spacers will there still be enough room for tires to clear edge of fenders when I lower truck? that's my main concern ? im probally gonna run 225 40 r18 tires unless you say I can run a wider tire without rubbing issues. and I understand its only 1/4in spacer but sometimes that 1/4in can make or break you.and im sure you know because im looking to get the same stance you have on your truck.sweet lookin ride thanks again
  14. thanks for the advice.i thought the choke fixed it but problem came back. I ended up swaping my points distributor for a matchbox electronic dist . and now my problem has disappeared. thank you all for your responses. sorry it took me so long to get back but this is a project and projects take time and money which all of you know by now. RATSUN RULES may datsuns live on forever. gonna do a weber carburetor swap soon. also a set of titan wheels woooooo hooooooo
