  1. I did the same conversion on my truck. If the D21 that you got the parts from had a 6 cyl, the rotors will work with pathfinder calipers. 4 cyl rotors are a smaller diameter and will not work with pathy calipers. As, a sidenote, the rotors have to be 6 cyl 2WD. Hope this helps.
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. I think I was way overthinking things. haha. I looked into it some more and V6 2wd Hardbody rotors are supposed to bolt right up to my stuff. I guess I just needed to type it all out to see it clearly.
  3. I've been reading the write-ups on swapping 2wd hardbody disc brakes/spindles/hubs onto my '73 620. I made custom upper control arms to make it work, got the whole hardbody spindle, lower control arm, etc. from a 4 cyl D21. I used the hubs from the '73, with the hardbody bearings to fit onto the hardbody spindles. I decided to upgrade to the 2 piston pathfinder calipers/brakets while I was at it. I got these from a '97 Pathfinder So, from what I understand - from what I've read; you use the Honda Passport rotors with this setup. I got the Passport rotors, and went to put the pathfinder caliper/bracket on, and they will not fit without rubbing the rotor. Did I misunderstand or miss something? Please help!

  8. Just thought I'd chime in... First off, nice build! I'm doing a similar swap on a '58 Austin a40 farina. 240sx suspension, ka24, etc. Second, the reason that tubing kinked was those harbor freight pipe benders are for "pipe", whereas that Dom tubing is "tubing". Pipe is measured by I.d. and tubing is measured in od. (3/4" pipe has od of 1.050", 3/4" tubing has od of 0.75"). So tubing needs to be bent in a tubing bender and pipe in a pipe bender. Looks like you got it figured, though. Keep up the good work.

  11. No offence, but I wasn't posting this to ask what engine I should run. I was merely asking if anyone has seen this done. I don't need opinions on engines. I have a 620 which had a KA24E, and now has a KA24DE, so I've run both. I have an abundance of both parts, and just wanted to see if it can be done. Again, I don't mean any offense in this post, hope you don't take it that way.

When I posted this, I was hoping you'd be someone to reply. You seem to be the resident "guru" around here. I've learned a lot from reading your posts in the past.
  13. I was curious since I have a ka24E block and DE head. I checked it out today and all the water jackets and bolt hole line up perfectly. I used the dohc timing chains with the E lower tensioner and tensioner arm, DE upper tensioner and DE lower chain guide. The lower cover is from the E and the upper cover from the DE. The only thing I had to fabricate was a small filler piece between the upper and lower cover, as there was a small gap. Upon visual inspection, the blocks are essentially identical on the outside. Bolt holes are in the same places. So this was basically a bolt on affair.
