All ca18det engines are turbo charged, right?

I retimed my engine-it runs better.:lol:

well, I re-timed it, and surprisingly it did it good:) It runs alot smoother and all I pretty much have to do is crank the idle and it will be good.

Timing problem? The engine backfires before it dies. In the next couple of days, I will be re-timing my engine.

After the choke shuts off, it stays running for little bit. The bulls eye is about a 1/4 full after it dies.

The carb shop tested the carb, and it worked perfect.:mad::mad::confused: Oh yeah, I also removed my AC that did not do anything. THEY also removed the watch glass and checked the float, it was fine. The fuel pump is mechanic and brand new as well as the filter.

My truck starts and idles then about a minute, the truck dies. I noticed that the float was low. So I checked the fuel pump and it gushes out fuel pretty good..not the problem. So I checked for vacuum leaks..none. I really want to know what the problem is:mad:

I know there is supposed to be a fusible link for the hitachi carb wiring. I only have the part that comes from the battery:rolleyes: (the part where he it plugs into). I was thinking, maybe I should cut the end of the fusible link and connect my carb wires to the wires left. Do you guys know what I am talking about? if there is power running through it, will it work?

Does anyone know how many turns the idle mixture and idle speed screw usually need to be out from the bottom on an hitachi carb off an L18?

i found a weber 32/36 DGAV for 100$. It has and electric choke and just got rebuilt. is it worth it?

The weber 32/36 DGAV fits in an L18, correct?

does anyone have a factory fuel pump for a 1974 620 that works good for really cheap?

My truck not only idles rough, but also when i drove down the street, it dies. So I got out of my truck and checked my carburetor. The float was really low:o Its not the carburetor because ever since I bought the truck it did this before and after the carb was rebuilt. Are my fuel lines clogged? I have also heard that if you drill a small hole in your gas cap it vents your gas tank and yout car idles smoother!!???:blink::mellow::eek::P
