  1. As the title says, anybody have experience in making fuel pumps more quiet or making them absolutely silent? I've got the MSD 2225 fuel pump and it whirrrs like mad! I'm not all too bothered by it but most people that I take ask me 'what is that buzzing? it's annoying!' and I finally got to the point where I'm giving into them. I put in cuts of rubber hose as washers for the bolts that secure it down but it doesn't really do much to help. I've been told to use bicycle tubing, but I haven't really given it a try, does anybody else have any recommendations?
  2. Well. Z has been up and running for a couple of weeks. Removed my bumpities, got myself some new wheels + extended studs, a new set of poly bushings, and ended up changing all of my connectors. She can idle at the proper rpm now and not die! Now on to deal with the bucking issues! Updated photo
  3. Trans has oil. I was doing the job at my school, so I had a lot of helping eyes to determine whether it was pressed on properly or not, and everyone said it looked good. My trans instructor said so himself. We also greased the input shaft, so I'm sure that it's not that. EDIT:: Welp, just adjusted it, it's a little better, not as noisy and can't hear it as bad.. but it started raining so I'm fresh out of luck. Poo, will report back once rain goes away! I'm not quite sure what you mean, do you mean the collar that gets attached to the fork? If so, then no, I didn't change it.. is it something that should have been changed along with it? I'm kind of sol if that's true, I don't have a press or a bearing puller at home.. I called a Z-helpline and asked about it, the guy over the phone said he didn't know about the Exedy clutch kits, but asked if it had a specific pedal adjustment it's supposed to be set at.. so I'm hoping that might be it, gonna be adjusting it in a few minutes so I'll report back with results. Crossing my fingers because I've got a lot of driving to do the next few nights... and now I gotta worry about my new wheels scraping when I reverse! Eee Thanks for the input, guys!
  4. Hey guys, so my friends and I dropped my tranny and put in a new clutch kit (clutch plate, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and pilot bearing) But now, when I have the clutch disengaged/clutch pedal pushed in, I'm getting a winding sound, like a bearing gone bad. Everything is pointing to the throw-out bearing, and atm I need the car to drive for work, so I'm hoping to get a response quickly within the next day so I can fix it. Friend of mine says if I adjust the clutch pedal it should help, other people are saying I got a bad bearing. It's a '78 280z and it's an Exedy OEM clutch kit
  5. Do you still have the 280z driver window regulator? Also would you know which year it came out of? :)
  6. Hey, I was wondering about those 280zx wheels you got; the 14 x 6. Are they really 6 bolt? Picture shows otherwise, if they are 4x114.3 I'd love to grab them from you. Please lemme know!
  7. Hey, I was wondering if you still had these for sale? It's been a few years..
  8. Hey guys, new to the forums, picked up an S30 a few months ago. Currently dead due to bad fuel pump, but was supposed to have one delivered to me today. Wasn't home to get it. Wah.
