  1. Sold, it'll be going to No-Cal....! I'll miss it, but don't have time for it.
  2. No doubt. Taking pictures for various interested parties made me realize how good a shape it's in....and makes me want to keep it....
  3. Well, I'll be happy to keep it, but I'm willing to let it go, so I can finish up some other projects.... Come on down....
  4. Thanks. Getting some calls, but no money yet. I love the wheels on the surf wagon, Looked at your thread(s) a bunch when I first got it since yours is like, the only other one in existence (on the internet).

Well he offered it to me in a trade for my $4500 wagon, implying that it's worth 4500, which is what aztec was asking. He's apparently 44 years old, too, not sure why that matters, or why any 44 y/o would think it would....maybe the guy is ok, but do your homework. I'm out.

IP check this dude, I bet he's Aztec510....
  7. I bet it'd cost less than you think to ship....
  8. I've been able to find "close enough" replacements for everything I needed. The clutch master cylinder I used is from a 620 pickup, the slave was from a 521, I think. The brake hoses are MG-B, I'm ordering a brake master from a 521 p/u today to fix the brake issue. It all bolts on. Just takes a little research. Looks like all front suspension is just roadster, so a disc brake swap should be super easy, if you were so inclined, then parts would be NO issue at all.
  9. I'm finding that I don't have time to mess with it, or even drive it and while it's under a cover, so my situation for keeping it is somewhat less than ideal.... It's this very car: http://bringatrailer.com/2010/04/17/never-seen-one-1962-datsun-312-wagon/ And also this one: http://community.ratsun.net/topic/51995-3-years-lateri-bought-the-62-312-bluebird-wagon/page-2 The car is from Mexico and still has an awesome Mexican registration sticker in the right rear back-glass. The BAT pictures make it look a little nicer than it is (particularly the bumper chrome), and the ones in my ratsun thread are before I'd even washed it, so the reality is somewhere between the two. I've gone through the brake hydraulics, including front hoses, it's got new clutch master and slaves, new under-hood fuel lines, new rad hose, cleaned out coolant system (came out really nice, no issues) and it's been cleaned up, including cleaning up most of the chrome trim. The bumpers, rear tailgate handle and a few other little pieces need to be re-chromed, the rest of the trim is in decent shape, though you MIGHT do the headlight trim rings. It's a little hard to find parts for, but I've been successful so far. I'm ordering a master cylinder today, as I'm not certain that the old one is good (there's a chunky spot in the pedal travel). I'm also going to put a choke control cable on it so that it'll start up an run with no issues. It runs GREAT, seems to make good power (not a lot of it, but there never was) and doesn't smoke, though I think it's running a little rich. The only complaint is the sticky spot in the brakes and a sticky spot in the steering that shows up at low speed. Shifter works nice, tranny feels good. I'm sure it needs shocks, but for use as a crusier/runabout you could wait on that. Front suspension seems to be right off a roadster, so roadster shocks should fit in the front, and the back should be similarly simple. Very little, if any, rust it's REALLY solid. Only thing to tackle would be the electrics, some lights work, some don't. $4500 FIRM or I'll keep it. PM me, boulware@gmail<.>com or 67ate-642-24six0 -Chuck Edit: fixed phone number...
  10. Cleaned up pretty well, needs a bit of a polish, but doesn't look bad at all. Took her on her maiden voyage, did pretty well, need to adjust the clutch for a bit more travel and get used to a lack of power brakes. Definitely could be a fun little "in-town" car. Runs great, exhaust sounds maybe a bit too "British sportscar" for a wagon, but not too bad.
  11. Ok...exactly a month later, time for an update. Finding new front wheel cylinders was a complete bust. Ended up being able to rebuild the original ones using a 1998 200SX rear wheel cylinder rebuild kit. Brake hoses off of a 65 MG-B did the trick out front (barely long enough, but should be fine). Flushed the cooling system out a few times, currently has a de-rusting solution in it, which I'll leave till the first real drive when I'll flush and fill with 50/50 opossum poison and water. Should be able to drive it around the yard as soon as I go get some gas in my gas can....
  12. I can't find 410/411 cylinders anywhere....which leads me to believe they might be the same :) I got autozone to order me some 521 wheel cylinders; that way they're easy to return, and there's no shipping costs if they're the same as the 620's. I'd probably make new backing plates that would fit the 620 cylinders before I modified mine. I need to see if there's other differences (length, width, etc) that would make the 620's not work if I tried that route. The best option would probably be to find a set of Roadster, 411, 510 or similar spindles, rotors, calipers, etc....I bet it's a bolt on. If I get that desperate, I might ask someone to take measurements for me.
  13. Making progress, got it running (fuel lines), got the back brakes done (new wheel cylinders), new clutch master cylinder on, new upper rad hose. Front brakes are going to be a pain apparently...I can't find the right wheel cylinders...flushed the coolant with water, then water with dishwasher detergent. Lots of rust in it, but I doubt it'll ever come out. The purpose of the dish detergent was to get any oil or old coolant out. If the rust seems bad after I flush it again, I'll do another flush with water and naval jelly, citric acid or some other rust remover...... To get it on the road, I'm going to have to: Find wheel cylinders and brake hoses for the front, bleed all 4 corners Flush the coolant a few more times, then install the thermostat, new coolant and rad cap Modify the clutch slave cylinder bolt spacing and install Fix the throttle cable and install some kind of choke control Figure out how to keep the fan from just barely taping the rad and making a god awful noise Sort out E-brake Then it'll need new front tires before anything more than a trip around the yard Tag and insurance Clean it up Eventually...LHS headlight, blinkers
  14. So....Fail. The rear cylinders were money, but the fronts were fail. The boss, the stud and the spacing between the two was bigger on the 610 truck parts than on mine, even thought they look almost identical. Any idea if the 521 stuff is different that the 620 stuff? Clutch master fits perfect.
  15. In the interest of trying to get hings here by this weekend, I went ahead and ordered: 2 620 front wheel cylinders and hoses (hopefully the connection to the hard line is the same) 2 510 rear wheel cylinders 1 620 rear hose (looked right, it was $3...whatever) 1 520 slave cylinder 1 620 (again, looked right, it was $9) clutch master cylinder All that, shipped, for $67. I'm used to buying airplane parts...this is great! The diameter on the front wheel cylinder is 3/4, mine are 5/8. This basically means I'll have too much front brake and maybe a softer pedal, I can probably live with it, if not, I can add a proportioning valve, but I suspect it won't be an issue (considering the "speed" I'll be operating at).
