  1. How about on a king cab? I've got a 1980 KC and I have considered swapping the bed for the later model for the added safety of the tail lights being mounted on the side.
  2. Already replaced it. Took those pics before doing the head gasket job.
  3. It was a steal of a deal, that's for sure.
  4. Sweetest part of the deal was brand new tires and radiator. It does have some rust, but nothing that can't be fixed. Oh yea, 103,888 miles when I bought it.
  5. So its been awhile since I've owned a Datsun. Got to looking around for a truck and ran across a 1980 720 Kingcab for $500. Ad said it had a smashed nose and blown headgasket. I went and checked it out and brought it home. Turns out the guy put a new radiator in it after kissing the rear end of a jeep. He put the lower hose on backwards, pinching it causing it to run hot. I spent a weekend installing a new headgasket and doing some patching on the front end. Here are the pics. Here are a couple of inside shots A couple of engine shots And a couple of randoms I've taken over the last few days. So other than needing a hood, grille and front bumper its in really good shape. Not a bad buy for $500.
  6. Newly married, young and still in collage working at walmart looking to buy a new car? Sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen to me. Take your 8k, buy a 2.5k beater and save the rest. Put up your "car payment" every month until you have 8-10k saved up and sell the beater. Buy a newer nicer car. Let someone else take the new car hit. Nothing wrong with a well maintained 2-3 year old car. I'm going to suggest y'all take a finacinal peace course. Also start listening to Dave Ramsey on the radio. Be smart, you don need debt to live a good life.
  7. Well it seems that the bits in my carb are about right. I guess I've got an air leak somewhere else then. I have to have the choke on to keep it running. Also might just need a really good cleaning.
  8. I've got a weber 32/36 on my Z24. Now the weber came from a L18, so I know it's under jetted. It has a 160 on the choke side and a 170 on the other. The truck will start and run until the choke opens, then it dies. Does anyone happen to know what size jets should be in there?
  9. I figured I would offer it up here also. Pics are in the Craigslist ad. It does run and drive, but the ignition problem is driving me nuts. The rims will only stay at the price listed, otherwise it gets stock rims put back on. I may trade it for something else, just make an offer. 10. I used to have a '71 Chevy C10 that ran dual fuel. I've still got the parts around somewhere to make it work.
  11. Hey do you still need a radio?

  12. I need to get rid of my truck. I dont really want to, but im never going to finish it. Its a 1978 620 short bed/cab. It was running good until i put a weber on it, now it doesnt run for crap. The L20b has been a good engine for me, and i would have to guess it has about 150k on it. Odometer quit long ago. I started rebuilding it and lost interest. I put a better cab from the 74 on the 78 frame. It does have disk brakes up front. If you search my name you can find my old posts with loads of pics. Here it is as it sits right now. Its located near Charleston SC. Im in Hollywood, about 20 miles out of Charleston. Ill take any good offer around the $500 range. I have clear titles to both trucks. Email me at B11sentra@aol.com, or call 843-830-5526. I dont get on here much anymore. This is the parts truck. Its pretty much done for. Sale will also include any and all 620 parts that you can find around my shop. It has the old cab sitting on it now.
  13. Well i've got too much going on in life right now to finish the Datsun, so im going to sell it. Its still where i left off in my build thread. http://forum.ratsun.net/showthread.php?t=7965&page=3 It will run, but only if someone holds their hand over the carb. It still needs to be put back together. Its got an L20b and 4sp, ran great about a year ago. Loads of spare parts to put it back together with. Comes with the 74 parts truck that ive got also. Clear SC titles for both of the trucks. Also have an L18/auto trans combo that goes with it. They are located on Johns Island SC. Im asking $700 obo for it all of it. I hate to sell it, but i haven't done much with it in almost a year, time for it to find a new owner, plus im moving out of state in march.
  14. There used to be two of those here in Charleston. The tow body was removed from one and junked. I know the guy that has the other. He has since rebuilt it useing a king cab. Haven't seen it since it got done.
