Use lower comp forged pistons and arp bolt the stock rods. If u have head studs, great. Z24 head gasket is fine.

I didn't o ring my motor (12.3:1 100 shot nitrous motor) and the head gaskets been fine. Head studs though and a good block and head surface.

With these goods, bolt it together and ram a fuck ton of boost down its throat and hope you dont melt the exhaust valves out of the head lol.

The rods/crank are strong.

I'm curious to see what this makes.

Studs ftw!!! Do NOT get stainless ones, they will gall and snap off. Cadmium ones are good though.

cut the bottom off it at the style line and use the top half... too thick

#1517901 Arp head studs

Posted by scooter on 17 September 2017 - 09:13 PM

my lz23 is 12.3:1 and has a 100 shot on it and has not failed yet, arp head studs and that ugly composite z24 head gasket. this is year 3 on the motor and a couple bottles have been run though on the 100 shot now...

IMO its cheaper to push a head gasket out than break a rod so i will continue to use fail-pro shitty composite head gaskets even though i havint popped one yet... L series FTW

the last 2 years it was on a 75 shot and has had a dozen or so bottles ran through it

#1496619 what proportioning valve I should use?

If your rears are locking make sure your seals aren't leaking. Gear oil and brake fluid will make your rear brakes grab. Opposite to normal thinking.

those gears aren't low enough for you roger? I shouldof sold you the dogleg out of my car too.

what about putting a ford 7.5 in your 1200? or is that going to be too wide? you could pick one up and cut it down and run two short side axles. I'm still content with the 8.8 that replaced the rear you now have, although its a little overkill.

welcome to ratsun, cheers.
