  1. My wife wants these gone, and i want my wife happy. These were from a '72 1200 coupe i had a couple years ago, and I've been lugging them around for 5 moves. Not great condition, but not too bad. A couple dings. Could use rechroming, or powdercoat them any color you like. $60 each or $100 takes both. Local pickup in San Jose, or I can bring them to my work in Palo Alto. PM me if interested. Absolutely will not ship.
  2. I bought these about 2 years ago and they were only mounted and sat in a few times, (covers are brand new in unopened bags). They have a couple scratches from sitting and being moved from shop to shop, but still have the original stickers on them. Come with two brand new covers in black vinyl., part number 41701. Price is $300 firm for both seats and covers. Located in santa clara. Contact 408 six four five one two eight six Here's a link to my Cl ad as well...Would prefer local pickup, but will ship. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/2512535080.html
  3. Hey Greg! Thanks for the suggestion. Didn't even think of 240sx.org, just posted on here and zilvia. Thanks for the heads up! If you know anybody on close proximity to me, feel free to shoot me a pm or e-mail with their info.
  4. You never know who has something lying around. It never hurts. I posted on some nissan forums already, just trying to cover all my bases.
  5. Havent had any luck from word of mouth so i thought i would have better luck on here. Looking for a complete running ka/trans with wiring/ecu all smog equipment preferably. I'm not going to pay some ridiculous price, so please dont think your KA is worth it's weight in gold. Ideally, <$500. I want to replace the z24 engine in my '87 Nissan Van I could pickup or you can dropoff, either way. Text at 415 three eight five seven one six five or email: clarkcameronm at yahoo.com
  6. Man, I'm glad you guys like this thing so much. My girlfriend won't even set foot in it... Maybe i need to get that ice maker working and entice her with some chilled chardonnay or something.
  7. I'd love to see a photoshop of it slammed and maybe tinted windows too! Thanks man, post it up! Hey Greg! Long time buddy. It's pretty damn close to the Mitsu Starwagon too...but i think a little closer to the Previa :-) This will be the daily driver soon.
  8. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned slamming it on airbags yet.
  9. Pretty sure it was the z24 but now i need to check. The z22 had the dual plug system too? Definitely a goofy TPI system. The ka might not give mbtter gas mileage, but a little more power if nothing else. IT does have 3 recall stickers :-) The temp never gets above halfway on the gauge. I do have a couple spare SR's sitting around. 1 NA and one Turbo...hmmmmm...
  10. So here it is. I just spent $16 having the thing washed and detailed, and thought i would share my story and some pics with you guys. Specs: 1987 Nissan Vanette - GC22 Chassis Engine: Z24 with funky dual ignition/plug system. Transmission: 5 speed stick Mileage - 196,000 Owner: 2nd (me) I picked this thing up for $500 from a local gas station owner. He was the original owner of the car, and stopped driving it for whatever reason. When i went to look at it, it was missing the exhaust downpipe and wasn't running. However, i was willing to overlook that in favor of the bitchin' Enkei 92 wheels that the orginal owner had put on it. As luck would have it, the same week i towed it home, a '88 van appeared at the local Pick n Pull, so i was able to nab the exhaust pipe i needed. After installing the exhaust pipe, i put in a battery and some fresh gas, and it fired right up! However, it would'nt rev above 2k, and under load would die. I did some searching on the forums and found that somebody had a similar problem, which turned out to be the ecu. So, another trip to the pick n pull and came back with a fresh looking ecu. It didn't really fix the problem, maybe allowed it to rev to 2200 rpm, but that's it. Then i started looking at the ignition system. I noticed it had this goofy twin plug system..unfortunately, it wasn't as cool as the system on the same vintage porsches :-) I tried unplugging the 2nd coil, and the van came to life. It would freely rev as high as i would let it...however, it still hesitated and bucked under load a little. I went to the junkyard again, and came back with another coil, and some new plug to distributor wires. Installed them, fired it up, and it ran like a champ. I drove it around town for a bit with a goofy grin on my face for a solid 20 mins. I've since put 250 miles on it. It does have a little hesitation between 2600-3000 rpm, but runs great besides that. Unfortunately, it is geared for 1987, so going CA freeway speeds of 65-70 mph, the poor engine is doing 3200-3600rpm, and gas mileage is high teens on the freeway. Regardless, i still need to get it smogged. But with the cost of the van, a used tire (one was flat), exhaust pipe, ecu, coils, and registration/transfer/tax/title fees, i'm sitting right arounf $750. What a deal for a rare and unique machine! Upcoming plans: ka24de/5 speed swap for better economy/more power (Note the clever and convenient placement of the van in front of the nissan flag. The car wash place just happened to be next to a nissan dealership.)
  11. IT RUNS!! I went to the junkyard and picked up both ignition coils, and coil wires after thoroughly searching for the coil fuses and realizing there was none. So, I replaced the 2nd coil, kept the original ignitor, replaced the plug wire, and it fired right up. There was a little bit of hesitation under load when it was cold, but after warming it up, i was able to drive it to the gas station for a couple gallons of gas and a much needed window cleaning. Then i drove it for about 20 minutes up the expressway and around town. Got it up to 65 mph and felt rock solid. The tranny seems a little notchy, but i'm guessing i probably need to bleed the clutch and maybe even change the trans fluid. The heater works great, the a/c is halfway decent, but the ice maker doesn't blow very cold :-( Overall, a small victory! Now to fix the exhaust leak and get this thing smogged and registered!
  12. So, either I'm blind or there's no lights on the ecu. I'll have to double check again. Are they on the top? Interestingly enough, I was looking in the engine compartment, and noticed the twin plug and twin coil system. I unplugged the first coil and it didn't start at all. I put that back and then unplugged the 2nd coil. The thing started right up, and would freely rev with almost no hesitation almost to redline. Under load, It still sputted a little bit but not nearly as bad as before, and evemn got it up to 3500 rpm while driving. A 2000 rpm improvement under load. I'm thinking of grabbing some coils from the conveniently recently junked '88 van at the local junkyard. Thoughts?
  13. Thanks Datzenmike! Can i pickup a scanner or something at any autpoarts store to let me do this? I did try swapping ecus last night, no dice. It'll rev to about 5 k though, but as soon as you try and load it up a little with the clutch, it dies.
  14. Well it's an '87, so i'm pretty sure it has some sort of fuel injection. I'll open it up this weekend and see what i can find. If it is the cold start system, how do i diagnose that?
  15. So the Z24 engine in my nissan vanette is having some issues. It hasn't been driven since 2007. I fired it up for the first time the other day. It idles great, no problems. But as soon as you give it some gas and try to drive it under load, the thing dies unless you meticulously feather the throttle. Unloaded, you can rev it up to about 2300, where it falls and almost dies, then bounces back to a smooth idle. Any idea what this could be?
