#1540365 L Series EFI Manifolds coming soon.

Posted by Mattndew76 on Yesterday, 08:24 PM

I said for $900 you can buy new DCOE manifolds, throttle bodies, and fuel rails. From Pierce and off Ebay and other places. You don't offer an EFI kit for $900 nor did I mention one. The only advantage I see for this setup is installing a turbo. Not my cup of tea, and hopefully it fits around the master cylinder without impeding airflow. Its a nice design for those who need it.

Locally we have a casting shop that's relatively inexpensive. It costs about $300 to have triple throttle bodies cast - 2 pieces each. Then they need to be machined. I run them on my flathead Ford - and they share a base design with the Weber downdraft. In the long run its always cheaper to make casting tools than to individually machine each piece. It minimizes material costs and reduces machine time. Plus you can 3D print casting cores for low quantities. The payoff is likely at around 20 units given the size of the components.

I said it before.

This stuff isn’t what you are looking for then.

I appreciate the input but this isn’t targeted at the budget drivers.

I get enough emails from the budget guys and you sound like the guy they should go to instead of me.

I don’t disagree that casting is cost effective in quantities, but I’m not interested in casting anything.

..... Datsun owners.

I am a Datsun owner and I have zero issue spending money on my car when I am realistic about cost and quality.

Its not even just Datsun owners that have a crowd of people that want the best quality they can get for nothing, and are plenty bold enough to vocalize it.

The last car I installed EFI in was $1300 parts list including a new fuel tank, Walbro pump, fuel line, AN fittings, throttle body, computer, and necessary sensors.  $900 is a VERY expensive manifold - especially considering who buys and drives Datsuns (myself included).  For $900 you can buy DCOE TBs with fuel rails and manifolds.    There's go to be a more affordable way.  Can't you just make the tooling and cores on CNC to cast the manifolds?  Each casting would typically cost about $75 plus final machining + however you want to spread out the cost of your time and tooling.

DCOE Manifold: $400-$500

Side Draft Style ITBS: $250 for one set. X2 ($500)

EFI Fuel tank NEW: $200-$500

Assorted AN Fittings: $100

Computer: $250-$1200

$1300.00 for all that seems a bit of an underestimate.

Castings don't run $75 each unless 200-500 units are ordered. I am not going to invest in tooling for cast because its far more extensive to tool up than it is to run billets.

You may not be the customer that will buy what I make. There is a lot of people that wont, but there is a lot that will, and can afford to. I appreciate your input though.

Do a write up on putting together an EFI kit for $900 in a thread for those that will not buy my manifold.

small port version for the putt putt guys and a monster port behemoth for idiots who want to try to make 1000hp.....

or if you make one port design leave enough meat so the runners can be hogged out to 1.6 inches or so with a thicker area that could be tapped for nitrous nozzles...

since you have awesome machines you could probably pick a popular top feed injector and build a fuel rail to go with the manifold and make it super awesome.

any idea on cost for this cnc cut beauty? I think I would pass if it was 1500 bucks or something but if it was like 400-800 I think that would be fairly reasonable..

I'm interested to see what you come up with

$800-$1000 is a doable range with everything you mention. Below $800.00 is pushing it,

All you need is a Weber DCOE manifold setup.  There are multiple EFI options that bolt up with the DCOE pattern.  There are also TBs that bolt up in the SU/Hitachi pattern, as well as the Weber DGV.  What's going to make this new manifold special?

Control over better interior flow.

Single throttle body design for a buy and bolt up option.

I have a model in the works for some EFI intake manifolds for the L16-L18-L20

Its just a teaser for now, but stay tuned for images soon.

Feel free to discuss such things.

Phiscal conservatism is not real. Just like humanarian liberal is a lie.

Throwing money at the gubment to fix shit has never worked. Government doesn’t fix. It facilitates waste and bestows power on the slickest of silver tongues.

Investing in imerging tech is best served privately, and not with tax dollars, health insurance is a bed mate of our representatives and as long as that is the accepted state then the system will never be fixed. Education was taken over by the feds in the 70’s and has been on a steady decline since.

I am pretty sure the amount of taxes the fed brings in every year reaches new record highs and yet we see more and more waste. If we cut or increase it doesn’t stop these turds from spending on constituent (donors) interests.

Who is writing the tax bill currently? House/senate or the WH? Who does reconciliation or laws? Who is on those committees?

Be happy you have work. Cut your own frivolous spending, and do what’s best for you. Invest in tech you see fit. Educate your kids as best YOU can. They (government) are not going to do any of that for you.

Ummm maybe they do. The key word is fantasize. The other is someone's opinion. Anyone can have an opinion on what women fantasize about. Could be true or wrong or maybe only 10% or 5% or maybe 80% fantasize about being forced to have sex against their will. It's not the real thing and harmless. Maybe they were brought up to believe sex was wrong and fantasizing about rape allows them to have and enjoy guilt free sex.  Maybe the real question is what percentage of men fantasize about women who fantasize about being gang raped?  Who the fuck cares???

Bernie is right. People fantasize about all kinds of fucked up shit. Same reason we have video games where we kill people. Same reason we have web browsers that hide our activity. People who act upon their fantasies often end up in jail or psyc wards. Women are people, and some embrace darker fantasies than others. It just is.

So was Trump out of line then for opining about the groupies that allow pussy grabs by this standard since Bernie wrote about the desire of sexes to fantasize of rape scenario?
