  1. Rjawm and hobbes, thank you for your responses.
  2. Thank you for your quick responses. Cheers.
  3. Has anyone done business with www.new-datsun-parts.com ? If so, what is your feedback on their products? They have no telephone number to ask questions, which always makes me feel uneasy. Thanks for your comments.
  4. Datzenmike, thank you for your support on this thread. I had David Witt, from the Sacramento Datsun Club, come over and verify the L18SSS without tearing it apart, He also validated the 13x7 zero offset American Racing Libres. I've decided to keep the L18SSS as a spare to the 2.3L that Dave Rebello is building for me. The tires I responded, by message, to a poster on this thread who was interested, but didn't hear back. The rims I will see if someone locally is interested. I will put them up for $500. Thanks again for your help. If I ever figure out the posting picture thing, I'll post pics of my car. :)
  5. Datzenmike, thanx for yours and the other kind comments. I have not been active in Datsuns for over 25 years, so I am not up to speed with what things are worth, thus my initial post. Thanks for the pricing comments regarding the rims; it gives me a ballpark for the rims. I'm fairly certain that the engine is a L18 SSS with the dual carbs. The carbs are not the flat top version and the head is not the peanut head. I will post pictures as soon as I can; I'm in the process of picking up my new car from a courtesy dealer this week. As the initial purchase came damaged from the transport and was returned, I am focused on this car to be correct after waiting 4 months. Thanks again guys for your responses.
  6. Thanks for the response. Not sure how to post pictures. The engine is in good shape. Two of the rims have some curb rash from my daughters driving the car. :)
  7. I'm in the process of restoring my '72 Datsun 2dr 510 that I purchased brand new. In the '80s I had a Japanese L18SSS motor put in. It has about 90 thousand miles. I am having a 2.3L being built for it. I also have 4 American Racing Libres 13x7 that I took off the car, as I am redoing the suspension, tires and rims. Does anyone have an idea as to the value of the engine and the 4 rims. Two of the rims have new tires on them that were required when I took the car out of the garage after 17 years. Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Are you running a slotted crossmember? I would like to run 15x8 +12 with 205s.
  9. I am starting to restore my 1972 Datsun 510 which I purchased brand new in 1972. It has been sitting for 18 years. The picture below is after we moved it out of the garage. How many others on the forum are original owners?
  10. I am putting in the slotted crossmember to get away from the negative camber I have with my current suspension. :( I was hoping that the 15x8 +12mm would be doable without much hassle.
  11. Thank you, banzai for the quick response. I think that answers my front tire/rim selection. I would like to get some confirmation on the back with 15x8 +12mm. Currently, the 13x7 +0 Libres are a tight fit, but it has the stock crossmember which gives it significant camber. I'm also installing Dean Sherman's slotted crossmember. Maybe Indy will respond as well. Thanx again.
  12. I am the sole owner of a 1972 Datsun that I am now in the process of restoring. The car has the old BRE/Suspension Technique springs on stock front 510 suspension and 13x7 Libres with zero offset. The fenders are all rolled. Right now the front Libres stick out about 1/2 inch and are snug in the back. I am about to purchase 15 in rims for the car. Here are my questions: Front: 1. Will15x7 +12mm with 195x50 work in the front? 2. Will I have to go to 15x7 +25mm and use a spacer to move it back towards the rim? Back: 1. Can I go to a 15x8 with +12mm and 205x50s? 2. Should I stay with 15x7 +12mm (I don't need the +25mm in back) Your quick responses based on your experiences are greatly appreciated as I am about to buy the staggered setup. Thanx.
